Default Zo6

Just curious. How many bought a C7 before they knew the ZO6 was coming. Couple of guys I talked to said they plan on getting rid of the C7 and getting the ZO6 when they come in. I was a bout to pull the trigger on a used C7, not a color I wanted, then, a guy told me about this. I decided to hold off for a while. The ZO6 and the 2015's will be out latter this summer. Hopefully I will be able to get the car I want, either new or good used one.

The Z06's will NOT be out later this summer. In fact, I don't think they will even go to production until late this year or at the very least fall. Don't expect to see any at the dealerships until early next year and rest assured, the ones that land first will all be presold and if not, they will have heavy markups on them.

I bought my C7 knowing that I would be selling in 3 years for the Z06 when the prices come down on them and they are more readily available.

Probably not very many.
A high performance version (not set to be called Z06) was said to be on the way by Corvette's chief engineer Tadge Juechter before the C7 was released.
Not everybody wants, can afford, or is willing to spend the money for a Z06.

I bought mine with the intention of keeping it forever, but in a couple years it will become primarily my wife's car, and I'll get a z06 or gen v viper

I like your thinking. Right now, I'm pretty impressed with my Z51. Came from a cammed Z06, and the only think I miss is the top end power. For those of you not driving the new Stingray, do it! This car is so much better then the C6 it is hard to compare!!!

But, I am also pretty interested in a Procharger and keep the Z51. I would be all in at $72,000 with splitters and S/C, and have the advantage of being a sleeper. Either way, it is a great time to be a CORVETTE owner:

Like you, I too came from a C6 Z06 and like you, the only thing I miss as that top end pull/power. Mine was pretty much stock though. The C7 is definitely a much better overall experience than the C6. I love my C7 but I'm still looking forward to the Z06.

Word that I have is the ZO6 will still be in development for 6 months after 2015 production starts. So look for the first ones to roll down the assembly line sometime next spring

I bought mine after the Z06 was introduced, late January. Yeah, I'll still get a Z06. Nothing like enjoying life now, and still enjoying it later.

I like viper a lot, but not fanatical about any car. I would have preferred to have choice of Z06 and G5, but unwilling to wait for the Z and also expecting rather large dealer markups, I chose the G5 now.

Still, the new Z excites and look forward to it challenging the G5 around Laguna etc. It's healthy competition and good for consumers.

I'm surprised how close the C7's performance is to the 2006 Z06 I had. I'll keep this early Stingray 2.5 to 3 years. By then the supply/ demand situation with the Z06 should have eased and I'll know if I want another Stingray or the Z06. Not yet sure about the desirability of the supercharged engine and wide tires for a car that does a lot of long road trips.

Yes, the 2015 Z06 will be a fantastic car, if you can get one!
Are you on a high volume corvette dealers allocation list?
If not forget about it...not happening. Check with some forum support dealers and get on a list like now.
Otherwise, look to check dealers lots next spring/summer for something available.

It's wide and low, yellow and black, and absolutely menacing to look at, even if it doesn't have an engine under its hood. Or an interior, for that matter. The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 sitting here in a stark white Michigan photo studio is just a styling buck, a body with wheels and tires designed to give us the visual impression the Z06 will make when it hits Chevy showrooms in late 2014.

This is off Chevy web site. They are claiming the ZO6 will be in the showrooms late 2014.

Although I would love to have a ZO6 I just can't justify the extra 35K it will cost you.

Because so many dealers are known to be accurate and correct in their knowledge of the C7 and their predictions

I've loved the gen ii gts since I was a kid. It was the first car that I really dreamed about, so owning a viper is on my bucket list. I wasn't really crazy about the gen 3 & 4 visually, but the gen 5 looks great. Now they're saying that the gen v will get a refresh in 2015, so I want to see what else they have in store, hopefully an ACR! In the meantime, I'm enjoying the stingray.
