Getting ready to head out in a few weeks (May 28-29) and trying to get everything ready. Any ideas on shoes? I own plenty of sandals and sneakers but I see they recommend driving shoes. Any ideas? Thanks guys!

Try a couple of the Outlets in Vegas before you head over to Spring Mountain, Puma is one, I believe Nike has a similar shoe, not a driving shoe but pretty much what you're looking for. Lightweight workout shoes work well too, but if not regular tennis shoes are OK. Just make sure they're comfortable to wear all day. Enjoy the new course layout!

When looking for shoes, watch out for two gotchas. One is shoes labeled as "driving shoes" by mass market manufacturers. They usually feature bumps, nodules, or separated pads on the soles. These are all bad news and will catch on the pedals. You want a smooth, flat sole.
The second thing you want is a "roll back heel" where the heel flows in a smooth curve up from sole to rear of the shoe. If you get a shoe with a sharp ridge and 90-degree angle at the back of the sole, you'll feel it when resting your foot on the floor/pedal all day.
Try for a breathable material too. Your feet will sweat after a while.
Puma makes great driving shoes at reasonable prices.
Used mine when I went to Spring Mountain a couple of months back....
Main thing is a thin sole so that you can "FEEL" the brake pedal on the ball of your foot and can roll over easily to the accelerator pedal for heel and toe.....
