Can't comment on comparison to no NPP, but when NPP is operating it sounds much deeper and throatier than when the system is off.

It really helps the car sound more like it looks.

I have it set to be on all the time, and love sound when the car starts up.

Can't think of anything else either on the car or elsewhere where my $1,100 could have been better spent.

Thanks in advance.
I bought standard exhaust because i bought a Z51 in stock and the
choosing was slim. So I bought the NPP from a member off his new car. Then bought the actuators from GM.
I've been running mine open so I can't say about the sound closed
compared. But the standard is a huge choke and the NPP breathes
much better. Since I have 615 rwhp I need the NPP.

A&A swapped it for me and commented on the difference.

I would say that closed it would be comparably quiet to the non NPP
which is too quiet!

Here's some basic recording I did with the stock exhaust.

And here is what I switched out to and another 26 HP.

Just to be clear, when you guys say you are running them open all the time what do you mean by that? Sport mode/Track mode or some other way to disable the valves? I do not have my C7 yet but it's going to have the NPP exhaust. Thanks

Edited because I found out that you can select for all modes.

If you are buying from "The Aftermarket" do you think it will cost less, look better and install correctly? This was engineered for the car, not just tube bent to fit. Weigh all the options including total cost.

Aftermarket will be more expensive, but they fit just as well and look great from all reports.

Aftermarket cat backs are in the range of $1300-$2000 depending on brand, type, and options.

I purchased the NPP because here in the Commonwealth of Virginia the State Boyz as well as small local towns love to nail people for "Modified Exhaust." With the NPP I can add Longtubes and if I get pulled over I can show the cop it's stock mufflers and I can make them quiet if need be.

Thanks for all the replies.

I ordered my car with the NPP just for the looks of the tips. I really didn't like how my 07 Z06 sounded with the Bi-Mode exhaust it had, too "raspy at WOT". Maybe GM redesigned the C7 system and I'll like/use them more.

Cheers

The C7 definitely isn't raspy!

In the Z's defense I really only noticed it after a 2 day HSDE at Road America, 56 laps around a 4.2 mile track may have blown something loose on the inside

C6 with Corsa extreme catback is just barely loud enough for me; I would not want it any quieter. Cost is very comparable to NPP. Would I be happy with the NPP in open mode or would I still be looking to go aftermarket, do you think? I'd never use a quiet mode so that is not a factor.
