Default 2014 C7 Inviscord Installation

All,

I have been searching for some time now to see if anyone has installed an Invisicord in their 2014 C7. I have a convertible and today I decided to go it alone and pass it on. I use a V1 and an Invisicord (I recommend getting at least a 12" cord or 15" cord). Behind the mirror there is a plastic cover that can be removed. Remove it. Once removed there is a small (about 3" x 1") electronic "box" sitting inside the plastic holder that is still in place. You can recognize it from the white and green cords coming out of it. This can be removed from its holding area and there is a small computer type connection on the side. Plug the red cord from the invisicord into the red line of this connection plug and the green line from the invisicord into the black line on the plug. Your V1 should now power up and you can feed the line through the opening in the plastic cover that you removed. The only drawback is that you will have to turn the V1 on and off manually as I was not able to find out how to do it as automatic when the car is turned on or off. I recommend getting a Great Lakes Trophies mirror mount for the C7 and attaching it to the back of the mirror and them your V1 mount should fit right onto it and you are good to go. It is nice and clean and a lot less work. If anyone does find out how to connect it to work with the car on/off then please post here or email me at mdm.tmg@comcast.net

Glad to see this! I'll be installing an Invisicord for my dad on his C6 later this week...I should wire up my C7 with one too before my next roadtrip.

NO pictures, no help. I also read where it pops or shorts something out. Hmmmm... Time for a search...

Drops a breaker. Apparently too much current draw from the radar detector. There is 12v there but it powers the LEDs and they use minimum current draw compared to the RD. So, I still don't think you can use the mirror.

You build a track ready street car with a top speed in excess of 100 mph over most speed limits. Yet it doesn't have a convenient power tap for a radar detector. There is something wrong with this picture... Now understand, I have never exceeded the speed limit, but I have heard others do...
