vin E5121711 lt2-Z-51 auto.
I have 1,000 miles on it now and since new the engine has a random cylinder miss fire, or it feels like shaking the steering wheel.
no check engine light ever, always run 93 gas.
off idle its perfect. wondering if everybody's run smooth at idle.
as a mechanic and shop owner i would think that it should run smooth.

Check each spark plug lead. One of mine had fallen off!!! Make sure that they're all securely plugged in.
It's possible that its a spark plug wire as mentioned above. That said, I can't help but wonder if you are feeling the transition from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders. You should see an indicated on the dash display which shows a V8 or V4 icon. This assuming you have the correct display up. I'd suggest watching the display to see if that could be it.
Corvette engines have a subtle vibration at idle... they are NOT Lexus smooth... it's a characteristic. I read in a magazine review that this is a feature of the engine and designed this way (which might be complete BS)... you know, kind of like a "hurry the hell up and get going, I don't like to sit still" character.
Mine is rough at idle (compared to any other car I've owned), it has been reported here on various occasions and completely normal and expected IMO... unless yours is severe.

I have noticed in the last couple hundred miles I am getting what feels like a slight lean surge. It idles fine, accelerates fine and only at lower steady state rpm do I notice it. The car was built in Oct and I took her home the same month. My VIN 3385 and just turned 1400 miles. I still have a half a tanks of fuel and its 93 Octane/ no ethanol. Will try a different brand of fuel next fill up.
Any suggestion.
