Just a few pic's to wet the appetite of anyone who wants to lean to drive their Corvette in a precise & safe manor. These pic's are from my two day level 2 class last week. Great cars, great people & great weather!
I also took the level 2 class mon-tuesday this week and had a great time. One thing not mentioned is the ability to drive a different C7 color than your own. I spent my open lapping in a VY and some time in a red and white one. I think yellow is faster IMO .
Were you on the new section of track to the south? It doesn't look familiar. I've been there twice, and each time it's been the 2.2 mile original course.
You can bring your own go pro. Have it in your camera mount suction cup device and all the proper settings. I have one touch on, spot metering, up down inverted. Practice on your own car before coming out. You may be switching cars from time to time so when you hop in you have readjust seating position , save seat settings if you are getting in the same car. Put on helmet , chin strap and adjust PTM settings. You want to be quick with turning your camera on. Bring xtra charged batteries to change after each driving session if necessary
During open lapping you keep the same car do you can leave helmet, go pro mount as is. I had one on windshield directed forward and one on clear roof interior pointed out the back window. Not sure how they turned out. Can do picture in picture. I keep my videos private though. That is just me though.

They also sell the GoPro at Spring Mtn. If you purchase from them you'll need 3 hours to charge it up before you can use it.
During open lapping for level 2 afternoon of day 2 of 2 day class they lend you a transponder which you put in your pocket. At "graduation" they give you a completion folder including your lap times. You can share with your classmates if you wish. I think in level 3 you are aware of your lap times throughout the sessions. But it not racing, like golf just you trying to get more consistent driving the proper line. The instructors who are all great enjoy immensely improvement in your individual skill set not how fast you are. And in our group the fastest driver was a pro nascar driver on the truck circuit. Needless to say he was not in my subgroup. And that's ok. No one wants to hold people back or feel pushed either making it not fun for either.
Go pros IMO are not user friendly. Buy in advance and practice with the mounts and setup. Worrying about a camera is not where you want your focus on.
Also piloti's driving shoes are coming back early June due to new buyer/ investor. This is what Rick Malone , chief instructor, told us. Call the school in June to see if they are getting restocked. He is a great guy by the way.
Just guessing, but this video looks like it was taken with a phone using Harry's Lap Timer. Very neat program that uses the phones GPS, accelerometers, and video to track lap times, track positions, accelerations, etc. Will also create the videos with the data overlays. It's only $25 or and is a lot of fun. Not the most accurate unless you get and external high speed GPS, but still great IMO.
I'm going to the driving school on June 1. Can't wait to try out the C7.

I didn't know to turn on spot metering and my videos are all overexposed to hell. So pissed!!!
