Default Z51 Wheels

I was just on the Chevy site pricing a new C7 (I already own one) and it seems you can now order the Z51 wheels on a non Z51 model. When you build and price a 3LT (like mine) it gives you the option of selecting the 19/20 inch Z51 wheels. When you select that option (chrome or black) the price comes up with "see dealer for pricing" which leads me to believe they are available. I wish they were available when I bought my 3LT. Does anyone have any information about their availability and price?

There was a thread the other day stating that it was a glitch in the system.

You can just go to you Chevy parts dept. and get the wheels. Probably will cost you $3k.

It would be far more than $3K because you need to buy 19/20 inch tires. More like $5K. I had a feeling it is a glitch in the system. The build and price function on the Chevy site is a POS :-)

GM is offering a ZF1 appearance package on non Z51 cars. It consists of either the silver or black painted Z51 wheels and carbon flash mirrors and Z51 spoiler. It is currently on constraint at 0%

That's good news and interesting but......at 0% and only about 2 months of ordering left, seems likely to really be a 2015 implementation.

But it is good. Thanks for the heads-up and link.

I think the constraint is due to engineering finalizing its release. According to the last allocation release, the constraint is expected to be lifted in under 4 weeks, so that could be as early as next week.

I asked the dealer about a set of black Z51 wheels and was quoted $5,000. FYI.

And yet if you order them on a Z51 model they are only $495. What a ripoff.

If the ZF1 costs more than Z51, who would ever go for that? I assume it has to be less

This is what will happen with the new z06. In a couple of years gm will let poseurs order a model that looks a lot like the z06 for less money...just like the gran sports.

Have you seen that GM is restricting parts for the Z28 to avoid such poseurs from making their 5th gen F-body look like a Z28?

While some may disagree, I like this idea in some cases.

I just ordered. I don't know if it's been accepted by GM yet, but this is something I'm really interested in. Does anyone know the price? I may have to make a change.

I wonder why this change wasn't discussed at the bash
