I know someone is going to flame me, but I have searched and cannot find anything related to this problem. I loaded all my Itunes on an SD card and installed it in the C7. It played just fine until I stopped the car and when I started the car later the SD card would only play one song repeatedly. I did a Browse and the only thing available to browse was the single song. Has anyone else experienced this problem??
I play music off an SD card all the time. It works great. I went out and tried to duplicate your situation, but no luck. I'm sure someone can help. Good luck.

Some said it could be the size of GB your card is and he said 32 gb maybe the largest size to use because remember the car is not a computer !!! Wayne
I wish I could try to replicate this, but my car isn't built yet .. so basically, I wish I had this problem ..
However, the fact that it worked at first tells you that the card is formatted properly and that it recognizes the format of the files. So things are essentially working. Try eliminating other variables.
What's the structure of files on the card .. is it just a zillion MP3 files in the root folder? That might be a problem. Are you using sub folders? The SD card I've already created for my still-vaporous C7 is organized by artist, then by album. The C7 can recognize multi-level folders ..
Have you tried removing the card, switching the media to FM radio (or anything else), and then re-inserting the card and switching the media back to SD?
When it WAS working, were you able to browse?
Try everything you can think of, eliminate variables. Post your results so the next guy gets a benefit from your experience.
Mine works fine, can't replicate. I'm using a high end SD card: Lexar 133x Speed 32GB. I used to use it on my Nikon D800, there was a small list of cards it would accept. I didn't catch what type of card your using, that may be part of the issue.......hope this helps.

I only loaded two artists on the SD card. These two artists comprise about 20 albums. I wanted to have them on the SD card to quickly be able to play them without searching through my Iphone or Ipod.
I removed the card, played the radio, the Ipod and the Iphone. Put the card back in with the same result.....only the single song. I checked the SD card on the computer and it plays just fine.
The SD card is only 16G, so I don't believe it is too large to effectively work in the C7. I am really stumped with this one. A weird situation.

I am using a SanDisk Ultra 16GB. Where do I find the small list of cards it will accept???

Is your SD card from SanDisk? The C7 has a history of trouble with SanDisk cards and USB flash drives. If you reformat the card using either FAT32 or NTFS for the file system, they sometimes work.

Yes, it is a SanDisk. Looks like I need to try another brand. I do not understand why GM would introduce a system which does not work well with some cards.

Actually, part of the problem is that SanDisk frequently has a proprietary format or software on their products. That's why a reformat sometimes works. I have been using a PNY 32GB SD card since Dec in my wife's C7 without problems. Over 4500 MP3s on it, and still only about 3/4 full.
I have a 160 gb iPod that keeps freezing in my C7... ready to step up to SD card....I know nothing about it. From what I have read.....32 GB is the largest I should use.....any brand except a Sandisk.....am I on the right track...any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

or just set up an "on the go" playlist in the ipod of the two artists...this is the biggest advantage of an iPod over an sd card...get in the car, choose the few artists you want and go, no need for anything else...
