Default Clipped a wing :( are these replace-able?

stupid me... i slid into my seat, instead of easing into it... and my t-shirt caught one of the emblems on the seat - pulled part of it off.

Looks like a clipped wing now... any idea how i can get this fixed/replaced? can i do it myself? thanks.

Only guessing, looks like you have to get inside the seat to change whatever holds them. Please let us know when you find out.

No help, just a previous discussion:

I would venture a guess that you could use some fishing line to remove what's left, and order a new emblem at the Chevy store. I don't know what sort of adhesive should be used.

Dealer can probably fix under warranty.

Wow! Look at the point on the top of the wings! THAT is just a plain dumb design. Looks nice, but a "catch on clothing" waiting to happen.

follow up - had to bring the car in for another reason so i asked if the wings can be replaced. Service person and tech are discussing, but conclude that the likely thing to do is to replace the entire seat cover!!! umm... if this is the case i sure hope warranty is going to cover it - they are going to "Check" and let me know tomorrow. wow... this design sure sucked if it has to be fixed with a new seat cover!!!

I'm curious as to why anyone thinks that this should be covered under warranty.

I also question your dealers competency.

The design is awful! If breaking an emblem = seat cover replacement, this is going to happen enough that GM will go broke again!

Sorry to hear you have a crappy service department at your dealership.

I know the search tool stinks on this web site, but I remember reading about two other people that started threads about breaking their emblem also in the last few months. Good luck.

If an engine gasket is crimped and leaks and gets replaced under warranty or a belt tensioner seal leaks after 3 months and gets replaced under warranty (for 3y/36K), etc. etc., then I would expect a plastic seat emblem that "cracks" after <1 year of use to be replaced under the same warranty. The warranty is for all parts of the car whether we actually "touch" them or not on a daily basis.
I expect all pieces of a new vehicle to last the same amount of time under a warranty.

I'll bet this item may disappear from production in the future. I've seen at least one other thread here where the emblem had broken. C7 seat looks fine without it IMHO.

I can hear the guy that had the idea to put them on the seat. "Seemed like a good idea at the time."

I had the same issue. The only way to fix this is to replace the back seat cover. When the dealer replaced mine the seat cover looked like sh*t. GM is already re-thinking the flag issue. When they replace the seat cover they must use a heat gun to get the seat cover to look like it's new. I had to get a contact in Detroit involved because the dealer stated there was nothing else they could do. Looks great now. Good luck.

I usually catch my shirt on it when turning to get out of the car. Every time I do, I cringe and turn to look, expecting the dreaded broken wing. So far, I've been lucky and no breaks. Of course, I probably just jinxed myself and it will break tonight when I get home.

Looks like an opportunity for an aftermarket company to come up with a smarter mousetrap. No way should you have to replace material when that is not the issue. If I have this problem I'll check with the local upholstrey shop before I let a mechanic pull apart the seat and have it look mismatched or like crap.

My seat tilts backwards, and I lean forward when getting into the car... It is hard to imagine how anyone would come close to brushing the emblem. Probably what the guy that put it there thought too.
The emblem is actually above my collar when I sit in the seat since it is on the headrest.
