C6 ProClip Hack for C7
Since ProClip USA is dragging their feet on creating a mount for the C7, and there is not a convenient spot to set my giant Galaxy Note II, I decided to hack the C6 version that I had sitting around.
The C6 mount hugs the left passenger oh sh*t bar very well. I dremeled the little tabs off to create a nice smooth surface and then cut a 1 inch "slit" in the mount itself. Found some 3/4" heavy duty velcro, cut it to length and bam, I've got a proclip mount. Sure, it's not the prettiest setup, but until ProClip comes out with something, it's the only option (that I know of) that keeps a suction cup off the windshield.

Haha, of course you had to post this right after I sold my C6 Proclip...

I spoke with a rep from ProClip this morning and he said a mount for the C7 should be available by the end of June. It will be interesting to see exactly where it will be mounted.

I'm ready for it as I use the Escort Max and smart cord with my Samsung Galaxy 5S for the warning about cops up the road. I've been wedging it between the power source and under the Oh Sh*t bar. It's not satisfactory but better then the 'cup' mount that doesn't handle the heavy phone well and takes it further out of the line of site. There's too much rake on the W/S for mounting it on a suction cup, tried it and no joy.
It'd be nice if pro clip adapts something similar to your arrangement. Thanks for showing it.

Yesterday I ordered the vent clip from Escort for the droid. In their photo it appears to move it far enough out from the vent it won't completely block the air. It might work temporarily until the other one comes out.
