Default Winter tires

Anyone in snow country use their C7 as a daily driver? If so, what did you use for tires and what was the result?

It's not a daily driver, but we installed Michelin Pilot Sport + A/S 3's all the way around. Not run flats so you probably want to carry a good quality air compressor and plug kit. BTW, we run them year round as we like the improved ride quality, less noise, and no front tire hop when turning at low speed. We kept the OEM tires for when we sell or trade it.

I live outside Chicago and have used all of my corvettes as daily drivers. I ordered a set of Michelin Alpins from Tire Rack. they come in OEM sizes. they are not listed on the website, but if you call them, you can get them.

Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP(Ultra High Performance All-Season) are the ones I put on mine. They are great. Wet roads no problem. Snow no problem up till body rubs. At 5 degrees in Jan. in Michigan I did a zero to 60 in 4.8 and this was my first try from stop just mashed the peddle or any tricks. And these are run flats too.

Unfortunetly, they do not make a "run flat" for the Z51 Package!
I am running the new Pilot Sport A/S 3's on my Z51 and will continue to run them year round!

When I was at the Bash last month, I noticed one of the 'factory' cars had the Alpines on them. I asked the engineer from Flint and he said they were trying them out as winter tires and he thought they were pretty good so far but definitely not the same dry pavement traction as the summer tires. I got low and looked for the tread wear numbers and couldn't find it on the tire I looked at. I doubt it's the same 300# the current tires have. I also noticed they were manufactured in Europe.
