Default First time ever ordering a car-please help!

Hello everyone, So I placed my order on 5/10/14 and was given all my paperwork and was accepted by GM to build, but I did not get an order number and I didnt think anything of it. So 2 weeks go by and I talk to my salesmen if he got any new info about the order and told me my TPW is 6-23-14 and the car would be in maximum 2 weeks after, which was great, I asked for the order number and he said he cannot provide me with an order number until the TPW date... Is this info correct? Is there anything I should ask him?

I just dont want July to roll around and end up getting screwed. I placed my order with one of the top Chevy dealerships in Illinois, Phillips chevy

I think he's incorrect. You should have gotten a GM Order Workbench which would have your order number on it. I'd ask him for that.

Got mine the day Mike Furman inputted the order. You do not need to wait until TPW established, as it will have gone through several status changes before then.

see the sales manager - forget the sales guy...he is confused or lying- ask for this report - it can be pulled at anytime from thier computers - look for the code that is circled...

It's the 6-digit alphanumeric order # that you're looking for. And yes, the dealer should be able to give it to you as soon as they've input it. I ordered my car back in February and was able to see the order reflected in Chevy's order tracking website the very next day.

That website, btw, is http://www.chevrolet.com/order-tracking.html.

Make sure the code in the event description section is not 1100.
