it is pretty easy to lose control of any car if pushed past its limits. You know he was probably trying out the track mode and had the TC off.
hopefully no one was hurt or worse.

It really doesn't take much when a ditch is involved. Once the nose or corner digs it's easy to upend the car. See it from time to time at the track.

No one hurt is pretty lucky. That top looks pancaked. I wouldn't want to have been in the front seats.

Damn The roof collapse is disconcerting. Looks like the targa was in, but popped out (it's on the ground where the EMTs are standing. Doesn't look like the car may rolled more than once, but it may have slid on the roof.

Do you think the rear seats would have been any safer?

Oopsie.

"Uh, dear, I'll be a little late for dinner."

You know, now that I think about it I bet this person could have used a 323 hp V-6 engine option (the Camaro base engine).

Yup, agree to that. Looks like the basket handle is all that saved him.

If you don't respect the 460hp, it takes two seconds to get yourself in more trouble than the electro-nannies can get you back out of.

eeyup ... we don't have to use ALL 460hp ALL the time. When they fix the car, switch the LT1 for a Sonic engine until he learns this.
