I agree with the battery tender and cigarette lighter adapter - had my previous Vettes and BMW on a Battery Tender - but on the C7 - can you tell me how you run the wire out of the trunk?
The connector is always exposed?
Closing the trunk lid on the wire - does it distort the shape of the rubber weather stripping?
Seems like there should be a better way - please let me know how you are handling this. thanks

I have the same routing question. I have the Ctek tender with the cigarette adapter which I have been very happy with. The old C6 had a notch in the door sill that accommodated the wire/cord so you could close the doors. Not so with the C7. With the C7 where the only active power plug is now located in the trunk. Any ideas on how to route so I can close the doors? Hate to even think about it in August! Thanks lol

I use the Black & Decker BM3B 6V and 12V Battery Charger/Maintainer. Works great and sells for under $20.

Deltran Battery Tender Jr works fine. Have found on Ebay for around $23, and using on the Corvettes without any problems. The cigarette lighter adapter works with it too .. It's a little slower to charge than the larger version .. but who cares? If you're using one you're not in a hurry ..

SOLUTION:
I think I may have a solution for Battery Tender users with a C7. Today I bought the cigarette lighter adapter and a 16 foot extension to be used between the lighter adapter and the Battery Tender. Both accessories available at the local Batteries and Bulbs store.

Plugged in the lighter adapter and connected it to the 16 foot extension, and put this out the window of the passenger door and plugged it into the Battery Tender - it is working fine. (Yes the car is in the garage). This way no weather stripping issues or trunk lid - just leave the window down about 1/2 inch.

This way you can't help but see the cable when you get in the car and can pull it apart and drive away - no damage.

That may be the solution thanks. Remember to use the cigarette lighter in the trunk as it remains powered after shut down I beleive. The front one doesn't. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The window trick will work, but I have to believe the unit was designed to be run out of the hatch.

So I circle back, can I run it out of the hatch and close the hatch on it? The little Users Manual says nothing about installation.

Assuming you are garaging the car, you can just close the hatch down to where it is sitting on the locking mechanism but not fully closed. The interior lights go out automatically after a few minutes. That way there is more than enough clearance for the power cord. Also, it's a good idea to drape a rag or towel over the rear fender (?) to protect the paint.

Perfect, that's the answer I was looking for.

Cheers
