Default Gas mileage

Man I LOVE this car! I just recently got out of the initial break-in period and a few days ago on a jaunt to my son's house (about 35 miles-mostly interstate) I decided to put the car in eco mode for the first time since I've had it. It's a 1LT coupe, 7 speed with nav. Cruising down the interstate in 7th at just over 60 mph on a flat straight stretch of road, I glanced down at the DIC (I had it in instantaneous fuel mileage mode) and almost fainted. It showed V4 mode and 47 MPG! I kept an eye on it off and on the rest of the way and more often than not it was showing right around that same number. Yes it dropped going up a grade but it also went up going down grades. Lowest observed was 21 MPG going up a grade and highest was 75 MPG going down a grade. As I said. More often than not it was around 45-47 MPG. That's pretty incredible for a 460 HP car. Can we say circles around a PR__S?Yes, I realize that number may not be 100% correct but DANG! What other supercar other than a $200,000 Tesla even comes close to that? When I got to my son's place a mutual friend that used to teach autoshop at a highschool was there and I let him drive it. When he got back he said "You weren't kidding. 47 MPG" The more I drive this car, the more impressed I am. One note. It's so much fun to drive it's hard to keep your foot from pressing the pedal a little harder. LOL It's the first car I've driven in a VERY long time that I wanted to burn the tires off and I've had other Vettes. This is my third. I should also say I've had so many compliments on this car it's a daily occurence. One guy came up to me at a car show and said his wife wanted to go for a ride in my Lamborghini. He couldn't convince her it was a Corvette.

I just took my automatic convertible on a four hour combination city, highway trip in "tour" mode and was not the least bit conservative in how I drove her and we averaged 28.5 mpg. Now bad for a 460hp super car. Very impressive...

It's an amazing car. No doubt about it. Chevrolet got it right for sure.

My overall average for my M7 Z51 is around 23.5. My best trip has been 29.5. I have only used ECO mode enough to make sure it was working and run in Sport about 75%. These numbers are very close to what I used to get in my C6 M6 with the 6.0 engine.

I drove to Carlisle GM Nationals yesterday and back in Eco mode. My average speed was 66 mph (cruise was set at 75). It was a 615 mile trip and I averaged 30.8MPG. Not bad!

I was at the GM Nationals yesterday also with my TR Z51 coupe. 260 mile round trip and averaged 28.9MPG. I was trying eco mode for the first time and cruising 65-75 most of the time.

I get 33 to 34 mpg on interstate in touring mode on level and even slight up hill when checking instant mpg. was playing with eco mode last trip and was getting 38-39 instant mpg on level ground but all the way down to 28 on even the slightest incline so I am staying in touring mode from now on. average over 50 miles is in the 33 mpg range all the time on the interstate at 75 mph anyway

Default 4 Cylinder Mode

What helps is that when in ECO mode in Drive, the 4 cylinder mode is only using 128 HP. I drive in Sport mode manual with my flappy paddles :-) in the city but in ECO mode auto on the highway. So far, after 2,220 miles, I'm averaging about 21 MPG which is about the same as my C6 3LT. I have noticed one disturbing thing though, my C6 pinged a lot if I didn't drive it hard. I'm starting to notice the same thing with my C7 when I'm on the highway in 4 cylinder mode and I step on it. I think I'd rather sacrifice the economy by driving 100% of the time in manual sport mode than have a pinging problem. Any thoughts from other members?

130 HP is all the 4cyl mode can produce because it’s limited to about 3000 rpm according to the chief engineer. It only uses about 20 HP cruising on level ground at 50-60, not 128.

They’ve coaxed the C7 up to 100 mph in 4 cyl mode. Pretty amazing. Don

Pinging...that has not been an issue in my C7 in any mode. I am not questioning that it happens, I have just not experienced it. My LS3, which had been dyno tuned, was very sensitive to octane.

In Eco mode, I can get 34-36mpg. I couldn't do that with my C6. However, I don't like the cylinder deactivation so I usually just stick with touring and still get 30-32.

your pic shows "best" of 36.8 over 50 miles, not 200. 26 avg over 50 miles, not 36.....

over a tank? i can get 50 mpg for 20 miles....that doesn't mean anything.

go get on the highway and set your cruise to 70 and drive 50 miles one direction. write down the number. turn around, get back on the highway, reset the meter, drive the same 50 miles at the same speed. average the two numbers and tell me what it is.

I averaged 35 mpg on a trip from Charlotte to Durham (150 miles). Maybe that's because I filled up with 93 ethanol-free before that trip?

I'll be taking it to Pinehurst in two weeks (75 miles each way), so I'll see what I can get on this one. I'll try to remember to snap some pics and post them in this thread. There will be another variable, though. I'm going to let my wife drive it on the way home.
