I just finished my detail and polish....following Glen's instructions to a T. Purchased every item he recommended, including the polisher. Impressed to say the least. Car is smooth and shiny as silk!!!!
I do that and it works great. I never use a nozzle on the hose when rinsing my car.
And for drying, a guy at an auto parts store swore by this car drying squeegee where the water just whips off of the car. I just didn't feel comfortable dragging that on the surface of the car. Any thoughts on that kind of a drying product?
You still putting around in that old Plymouth Duster?
What is the best recommended drying towel to dry your car with? I have been using microfiber and just curious about other opinions.
The complete car care system from Wizards Products is hard to beat. The new synthetic chamois in their line-up is among the best of the best out there. In addition, it's washable! Kind of makes the old cowhide yesterday's news. lolz
Wizards also is the only line with petrochemical-free products wherever possible. No more greasy kid stuff as the on-the-cheap product lines have. yuk!

For what it's worth, I've used a 'California water blade' on my C5 for many years and have never seen an ill effect from it .. no signs of any scratch or swirl at all. It's made of a super-soft silicone and is very flexible .. can get 90% of the water off in about 2 minutes. Not sure yet whether I'll use it on the C7 .. It's not at all like the kind of squeegee you'd use on glass..
Same experience...No scratches.... Used it on C,4,5,6 and XLR use the blade first and then an electric leaf blower, work wonders to get the water out of those small crevices....finish with towel

I use Griot's Garage Micro Fiber Drying Towel along with their Spray-on Wax every time I dry my cars. Works great and I receive a lot of compliments. I have been using Griot's products for over 15 years (tried most of the rest).
Some auto parts stores sell the Griot's waffle weave micro towls if you don't like mail ordering. Also there is a blue waffle style drying towel sold by one of the big auto parts stores that works almost as well and is a lot cheaper.
I use a chamois to swipe the big water off and then the waffle weaves to dry completely. Keeps the waffle weaves from getting soaked early.

See post 10, one waffle will do it this way, easily....

I don't know if sale is still on at Griots or if you interested or not but yesterday I ordered liquid products (15 % off) things like leather products , speed detailer, window cleaner etc. and shipping free was free over $99 dollars. I ordered the gallon size of various liquids they sell since 15% off!
I like the borderless blonde towels that they sell on the Zaino website. They're very soft, and of course, no border. They're pretty absorbent as well.
I intend to order a waffle weave soon, along with other detailing products. I have been using a heavy microfiber terry towel that seems to work pretty well.
detailers use a type of microfiber specially made for drying - it is called a waffle weave towel.... A popular one is the Cobra Guzzler towel.
send me an email and I'll send oyu a how to on everything you need to detail your car in 4 hours...no scam, lots of cars here are using the method I stole from Todd Helme at Autopiaforums-->glenersly@mac.com
