Just got my new C7 last Tuesday. I love the car, love the looks, handling, everything about it EXCEPT- when I enter the cockpit, there is the strong smell of what I (and others) think is GLUE. Anybody else experience this? And if so, will it dissipate?

Thanks for the info- seems quite strong, but has lessened some.

I have to agree the solvent like odor is stronger on the Stingray than on any other car I have had.

Not only does it smell but when it sets in the sun for a while you will get a film on the inside of the windshield. It stops after a couple of weeks.

Now I know why I get so HIGH whenever I drive my Stingray! it must be inhaling the vapors from the GLUE!!

My trunk still has a heavy smell of glue every time I open it -- after 6 months. Sometimes I can smell it in the car. Disappointing. I would have thought GM would know best how to avoid this kind of problem. I'd expect this from a smaller maker but GM? Come on...

If you don't like it put moth ***** in it. That will kill it and keep me and lots of other people from entering your car. I really hate the smell of moth *****! What I have been doing is let the windows open to keep the chemical concentration/smell at a minimum.

I build model airplanes. Smells pretty normal to me.

Mine is seven months old. It goes away.

There's an older post on this same topic. I think the smell is a bit excessive for a new car, but it's better than the stale smell of an old one.
