Default Bowling Green Workers

Does any member here know anybody that works at the Bowling Green plant? It would be nice if we could have a person on the inside that could update us on production related items. For instance, my TPW is next week. I'm sure someone in production knows exactly what day my car will be built, or if it'll be built early.

When your order status gets to around 3000 or 3100, a TPW (target production week) is assigned. That's a pretty good estimate of the week in which your car will be built. You can get that information from your dealer or from the Customer Service Reps in the order tracking thread ...

Thanks for the information. I was wondering where all the extra detail came from, because I did not see it on the Chevy Order Tracking website!

There's a lot of info here on the site .. take some time to read thru the 'sticky' section .. Here's a list of the various event/status codes an order goes thru

Event Status Code
1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
1101 Order Entered into System
1102 Order Entered via Web
2000 Order Accepted By GM
2001 Order Generated to Dealer
2005 Order Replaced with Prospec Order
2030 Order Edited (If Necessary)
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged")
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to be Sequenced
3300 Order Scheduled for Production
3400 Order Broadcast (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4104 Bailment Invoice Created
4B00 Bayed
4D00 On Hold At Plant
4P00 Hand Off To Carrier
4106 Bailment Released
4150 Vehicle Invoiced
4200 Vehicle Shipped
4300 Intermediate Delivery
4V03 Estimated Delivery Date
4800 Rail Ramp Unload
5000 Vehicle at Dealer
6000 Vehicle Delivered to Customer
9000 Order Cancelled

The GM order tracking site only shows

1100 order placed (order template, not recognized yet by gm)
2000 order accepted by GM (order attached to an allocation)
3000 order accepted by production control
3800 vehicle produced
4200 vehicle shipped
5000 vehicle at dealership

So there are a lot of steps along the way ...

Of course it is ok with you if the line worker loses their job to satisfy your need for immediate gratification, otherwise you would not ask such a question.

Am I being hypersensitive? If any lineworker at a GM plant has lost their job because they answer such a question, I am not.

And believe me or not, GM has fired line workers for such.

Should GM be allowed to get away with such injustices? Of course not but we do not live in a country that recognizes employee rights.

My rant and delete this response or ban me if you will, I will just repost wnen I can.

They know over @ NCM, however if you are not doing a delivery with them they probably can't take the time to look up every car.

Here we go again. It's not ok with me if anyone in this country loses their job. I don't have an employee handbook with all their policies listed. I don't know what the do's and don'ts are when working at BG. And I'd never want someone to risk their job just to give me a build date. I was only wondering. And I never specified line workers.
