The C7 dipstick is sort of interesting in that it is unlike any other I have ever seen.
Don’t know about you folks but I find it very hard to read except when the lighting is just right. Thought the car had used about a qt or more in the 300 mi drive back from the delivering dealer. Thankfully, it hadn’t used any oil. Would have preferred a conventional metal dipstick. Minor issue of course. Don
The only thing I have noticed about the non-Z51 dip stick is that it must go into the oil pan at a sharp angle because the level will be 1/4 quart different from one side to the other.

correct, I rotate the handle a few 360's to get a level...not really concerned if both of the sides are in the hash marks...

Mine is a base, not Z51 and what you describe is exactly my experience. Just need to be aware of it and I am now.
The good point is that with all the variations in speed I intentionally made for breaking purposes on the 320 mi trip from the dealer, is that the car has not seemed to burn any oil. Having a new car that drinks oil is a real downer to me. Thanks, guys. Don

A little oil use is normal the first few miles. Should stabilize by 500 miles.
That's what I have learned to do also...one rotation does it for me.
By rotating the dipstick, you are just making both sides equal to the highest reading... might as well just read the high side...actual level should be between the high and low readings.
The good news, as mentioned, is that the level is not changing after 1300 miles.
