Default Vette accident-185 mph

Anyboy know of an incident /accident involving a C -7 corvette around Corcina, Texas. Supposedly approx 2 weeks ago. I heard the vette was travelling in excess of 185 mph and went air born. Driver killed not a scratch on him. I am certain it happened just no mention on the form that I know about.

Actually, it's probably Corsicana, but I couldn't find anything about it.

^^^

At one point during the chase police reportedly used a spike strip but it didn’t seem to affect the man’s tires. KCAL9 anchor Kent Shocknek, also a long-time car enthusiast, explained that the tires on this particular make of Corvette were designed to avoid puncture.
sighhhh ... run-flats, "tires designed to avoid puncture," same thing, says the clueless media.

The guy was driving a C6.

When he got out of the Car the Cops shot him dead.
No, he didn't have a Gun, he was just a bit wacky.

Watched it Live.

I think you guys are talking about two different accidents.

Two different incidents, one in LA last year where a C6 driver, suspected to be drunk, led police on a chase and for some reason they shot him dead after he crashed and exited the vehicle, the other in Texas this month where a C7 vert driver was going fast enough to crash through several trees and into a lake, alcohol not a factor. The first incident was an incident, the second probably an accident, though suicide by single-car high-speed crash is not unheard of. Neither story tells you enough to know what really happened.

I seriously doubt anyone could crash a C7 at 185 and have no obvious damage to his body. Don

I am sure Darwins Theory played a part in both the above incidences.

Oh, good point. Unless he somehow slowed down between losing control and impact.

It looks like from the map https://www.google.com/maps/place/La...7dda33345ef13a that there's a couple miles of long straight road before he crashed where 287 crosses Lake Halbert so he may well have been able to get it close to top speed. Totally not a good idea. Sorry for the guy's family.

I also haven't read anything from any source about 185 either.

Although, if he ended up in the water, visible damage from impact may not have been what did him in.

Pure speculation (not the first on this thread)

There is absolutely no way you can crash a vehicle at that speed and see no VISIBLE signs of damage to the body. Signed, Dale Earnhardt

A ruptured Aorta will do you in quickly and not be outwardly visible

Good point, a stroke or seizure could have caused an involuntary throttle "mat" and away we go.

I would like to hope that a "Darwinian episode" was not the cause, that is a bad rap on us (profile contribution).
