Default Tracking Order Code Progression

I placed my 2015 order on June 26 and found out today when I called my dealer that the order was picked up by General Motors. They have assigned me a tracking number but the site does not give specific code information as the car progresses through the system. I was told by the dealer that I could e-mail them and they can determine and report the code to me. Is this how everyone else tracks their car? Isn't the best you could be at today is code 2000?

Your dealer can AND SHOULD provide the code to you. You can also get it from the Order Tracking sticky thread.

The dealer said where it was just taken today it may take a few hours or longer for their system to show or reflect the status code of 2000. When I access the tracking site it only has about 4 - 5 status bullets across the top of the page. Am I missing where I can see a specific status code?

No, the tracking site does not show codes. However, you can get the codes by using the Order Tracking sticky thread. Chevrolet Customer Service order tracking thread. Still, the best source for the current status code is your dealer.

Update.....I just received an e-mail print out from my dealer that shows me at status 2000. The inventory manager said I should go to status code 3000 tomorrow. As always Zymurgy....thanks for always helping us less informed. I appreciate it!

You can start a chat session on the Chevy site also. The agents there will give you the info also. And yes, 2000 is the furthest along you could be at this point. And remember, the 2014 cars will be built supposedly up until August 8th.
