I am in Little Switzerland NC and have caught a rock which damaged my sidewall on my OEM Michelin Pilot SUper Sport which needs replaced. I am headed home tomorrow to the Daytona area.
Anyone know of a tire store that would have this tire in stock hopefully on my way SOuth. But for sure would go out of my way if I had to. Appreciate any help I can get.
Real concerned about going much further on that tire. For what it matters it's the rear wheel drivers side.
Could try Tire Rack. If they have the tire I imagine they could ship it to one of their places on your route home. You would probably have to lay up one or more days waiting for it, I don't know how fast they can ship in an urgent situation. Just thinking out loud.
If you go with an independent make sure you specify the GM TPC spec tire. Michelin's east coast distribution center is in SC.
There are a number of Discount Tire stores both in Asheville, NC and in Spartanburg, SC. Call the closest one to you and they can see about getting the right tire to the best store.
Guys thanks for the input. I went to a Discount tire in Asheville and they wanted to sell me a couple of MIchelin Pilot A/S tires for some $700 plus dollars.
But when they really looked further at the tire they said it was not necessary. They would take my money but they really said it was not necessary.
So I said thanks and hit the road. Staying overnight in Jacksonville. When I get home I will order one OEM tire and have it replaced by my insurance policy I took out when purchasing the car.
