The F-Type is sexy for sure. Compare that and the C7 to the new Hellcat, not even close aesthetically in my opinion. The Hellcat is big n boxy while, the C7 and F-Type are sleek n gorgeous. The F-type also has some Ferrari in it, a little Berlinetta maybe. The fully loaded F-Type puts it in the C7 Z06 category and I'd take the Z06 over it without a doubt.
To me it's just the opposite but when you figure out that the F-Type similarly equipped is over $40K more expensive than a C7 it starts to look a lot less pleasing
For me historically Jag's and Aston's are some of the most beautiful cars on the planet.

I disagree that the Vette is "much more pleasing to the eye" as I think that they're both gorgeous cars in their own way and ones that i'd be happy to own. I cross-shopped the F-Type before deciding on the Vette, and the value just wasn't there to me for what they were asking for the Jaguar. It's a great car, nonetheless, but not for the difference in price in my opinion.
I've been trying to get my expat friend to pony up for an F-Type. I thought I was making progress until he rode in my C7 and realized what he'd have to pay to be in the same category, performance-wise. Now he's considering the Vette. ☺
Seriously??? I love my C7, it's a beautiful car, but that's a bit of a stretch right there. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it but EVER built?

I'd only modify it to say "ONE of the most stunning cars ever built". The more I look at it, the more I admire the job Welburn and Bennion did on this thing - looks like a lot like a Ferrari, but better balanced than just about any front-engine Ferrari yet built, (including the F12 which is a little over the top.) Just my opinion, but you have to go back to the 275GTB/4 or the 288 GTO to find a Ferrari as pretty, although the 599 Fiorino comes pretty close.
I parked my 2014 Z51 next to a brand new 2015 Jag F-Type R-Coupe yesterday which was painted British racing green. It is is also a gorgeous car - best looking Jag since the E-type. It is surprising, however, how much lower the Stingray sits relative to the Jag and just about anything else. Must be the lower hoodline the LT1 OHV engine allows.
The F-Type coupe was on my short list of cars to buy while waiting for the C7 to arrive. This was last Summer/Fall.
The F-Type is a little tight in the cabin. The C7 feels much more comfortable inside. The F-Type drives well, but I wasn't that excited about the exhaust note. I drove the middle model a couple of times before deciding on the Stingray.
Love the F-type, they're not selling well at all in the US. Value will drop like a rock, but looked at that before picking up the used aston, way more car for similar money.
The downside on the f-type, only 320hp and it only comes in automatic.
Been a Jag fan since I was a kid. E type was my dream car growing up.
Was looking forward the F type Coupe and it is stunning.
But the base model is $10K more than an LT1 w/auto and navigation. Base F type cannot compare to the C7 performance, metal dings and dents, Chevy dealers are everywhere Jag dealers are not.
I also believe there is going to be a much larger resale market for a Corvette than a Jag. Not that I'd buy either with that as the sole reason.
If the base F type coupe was priced at $53,995, I may give it a hard look, but as is, it's pretty much a non starter for me.
IMO I see a lot more Ferrari Berlinetta in the C7 than the Jag.

:agree:
I love the F-Type, but to get the same level of performance is was to much more money. Value did not seem as good.

I still love the F-Type and think it is the closet competitor to the Stingray in terms of pure visual appeal. If the numbers had been closer for similar performance I might have been in the F-Type

The C7 is a good looking car but they went a little overboard with the styling cues. Everywhere you look there's something that disrupts the flow. From the black hood vent to the air outlets in the rear there's just a lot going on.
We have a Ferrari dealer in town so I see them on the road now and then. Mostly the 458 and the California although other models now and then. Sometimes you forget how nice they look and what you are paying for. Frankly, you can't beat their design team. Real supercar styling with nothing extra. Simple, yet stunning.
I've stopped at the local Jag dealer a few times and the F type is typical British sports car design. Nothing radical. I owned an XKE back in the day and the F type is no XKE. Very precise inside, by which I mean everything is where it should be without a lot of extra room.
Where the C7 is swoopy and long, the F type is more taut and more of the British "bulldog" in it. Where a 911 looks like the bodywork was shrunk onto the mechanicals, the F type squared off and the C7 looks aerodynamic.

Kind of ignoring the more powerful versions, aren't you? It's available with up to 550 hp on the coupe. I read they will offer a manual tranny in 2015.
I like the Jag, but pricing is way out of my league.
I know I am in the minority, but I think the F-Type is a little squatty looking in the rear, and the hood is too high in the front to be a spectacular design.
Imo, the Ferrari F12 is the best looking sports car on the market - my neighbor has one, and if it weren't 6x the price of a C7, I'd much rather have it.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
