I went to my local long established tint shop, they have a comparo setup to compare heat reflection between the two different types and ceramic appears to be all over better. For the relatively inexpensive cost I'd go with the ceramic.

For me, ceramic was well worth the little extra cost.

My friend did her prius and it added about 60 to 100 to go ceramic, not a big deal.

I do 20% Solar guard on all my cars, don't like the metallic look of ceramic, $175 for SG is all I need.

We have a display at our shop that uses a heat lamp to show the differences in tint percentages and ceramic.
It's a no brainer once you feel the difference.
Spend the money on Ceramic.

I agree...this is a "no brainer".....for just a few more $, the ceramic is the best bang for the buck!!

I agree that for heat rejection and overall comfort ceramic is far better. However, be aware that it also blocks some reception for your radar detector and that RFID cards for security gates, garage doors, etc. will not work well through the glass.

I know this for a fact.

My last daily driver was tinted with 3M ceramic and I loved it. But immediately after receiving it back from the tinter, I noticed that my RFID card no longer worked without rolling down the window and that many of the routine false alarms along my regular daily commute (that I used for "quality assurance") no longer triggered my V1.

but this wouldn't be a factor if you don't tint the front windshield would it?

That's probably a good point.

The car in which I had the windows tinted with ceramic had a front windshield that already had an impregnated metallic tint from the factory (Mercedes). Tinting the sides and back most likely did away with any possibility of the RFID card being activated and pretty much sealed up the car from radar for the V1.

The Corvette windshield is, I think, essentially clear and would still allow for RFID and radar signals. However, tinting the rear and side glass with ceramic may diminish radar signals reaching the V1 from those directions.

For this issue, look at Llumar CTX film. I have an appointment this Friday to have this installed. It is a ceramic based tint that does not block radio signals, it is relatively new to market but the reviews are positive.

Creamic hands down, had it on my 11,12 and now on my Tundra and 14. Windshield tinting is illegal in my state so no worries about detector or homelink operation for me at least.

Default Huper Optik

I have Huper Optik on my 08 Lexus and 07 C6 and it works great. I plan to put it on my C7 soon. The AZ sun is brutal....not too many places have the Huper Optik though. I had both cars done at my Lexus dealer but it is expensive at $500 per car.

I thought the main reason ceramic was developed was because it did not effect radio waves, radar, cellular and such signals like metallic does.

I have ceramic on mine and zero issues.

Ceramic is awesome for heat rejection, but usually not as dark as some may want. For me I'm OK with 35% on the sides and what's state legal for the front windshield.

Went with ceramic for the first time on my 5th Vette. It's been 90+ here in Austin the last few days and it already has a noticeable difference from my C6 that had the non-ceramic!

One thing I will say about ceramic is that I love how it looks and how much heat it blocks. There is one potential draw back, something called ghosting. I only notice it in certain light but when you do notice it, it's impossible to ignore
