Default A possible 500 bhp C7?

so after seeing the hellcat amazing 707 bhp and ford announcing that the new 5.0 mustang will be 500 bhp, will GM follow that path with the vette c7 for 2015 or maybe 2016 and pump up the horse to 500bhp line?

any insight or possibly thoughts since some of the members here can predict GM patterns on that matter

it was an interview on a local magazine saying its gonna be around 500 bhp,

here's the link its in arabic and you can translate it on google, and I'll have a screen shot and I'll provide the translation

http://www.saudishift.com/2014/ford-mustang-2015-2/

BS: everything that this magazine predicted with other car makers came out true, I believe it is said that it is supported by one of the Saudi Royal Family

The highlighted part says:
((The New Mustang will have a 5.0 V8 pumping out 420 Bhp, same engine offered in the current generation, and after a year and 6 months its gonna get pumped to 500 Bhp))

end of translation

for what I know everything they predicted came out true

I think we have a greater chance of seeing a model between the Stingray and Z06 with 500 HP than the base car getting a bump like that. I bet they will save 500HP base for the C8.

to be honest I think they should, and I believe the current vette is a bad a$$, but I would love to see GM offering different types and models of the corvette with different packages offering either more pure power or improved light weight track version and to be placed between the base and the C7Z

Man, where does it end? How much is enough? In 2000 I though 200 HP was more than adequate. You can never be "King of the hill" because there will always be someone out there with more ponies. I'll have my ProCharger next month. JK!

I believe 500hp from the lt1 is easy.

Gm was running 496 hp during validation testing if I remember correctly.

I'd suggest if not 2015 then 2016 model year.....(that would follow the path the c6 took in 2008 versus 2005)

The lt1 is in my opinion easily capable of 500hp.....not that it would be much faster then the 460 hp version.....

Go to ECS you'll have a 600 rwhp C7 in 3 days. Add a meth kit and you'll be up to 650. Not sure I need that kind of power tho for a toy with no intentions of tracking it. 460 is more than enough to make me smile every time I press the pedal.

you guys are lucky living in a place with great Tuners, like LMR, VG racing, ECS, A&A, Procharger, and last but not least Katech they know what they are doing and they try even harder to achieve perfection which I believe they went beyond perfection

but here where I live its hard to find a tuner that keep up with industry.

I honestly wish that LMR and VG racing do remote tuning for ppl living overseas
