The union teachers in our state have a $3.2 million pension waiting for them when they retire, and they don't even work a full year. They are the last ones deserving of a special discount.

And now we see teacher bashing on the Corvette Forum. It's time some of you people get a life. Or if you think life is so great for an educator, I suggest you go back to college and join their ranks. With your kind of attitude you would never make it, or afford it. If you are so jealous just go and join a credit union for the same discount. For GM this is just another form of advertising and incentives.

Really??? They just throw money at teachers don't they? All across the country teachers are flaunting their wealth. I've taught 41 years now and I don't know of any teachers getting rich on their salaries. By the way, a lot of teachers have to go to school and attend seminars in the Summer on their own dime, my Masters degree cost me $21,000 out of pocket When I retire their is no health care that's included and my pension is 45% of my salary with no cola, the young teachers have a tier 2 retirement plan that is worse. GM puts out a discount program for educators and the "rich" teachers are getting richer?
California may be different, but overall your "Tea Party" matra about teachers is wrong. By the way I'm not a liberal either.
So all these people who complain about the demise of our country are often the ones who complain the most about who has to educate our next generation. It sounds like you and Beepster have had a bad experience with education.
