Looks great, and reduces heat. Just make sure to get a shop that has a good reputation, has done C7's; and get CERAMIC film.

Agreed, love the ceramic tint. It really cuts down on the heat. Also, the dot matrix on the upper hatch window takes tint much better than the C6.

I just did mine last weekend. 35 sides 20 back. Found out the 20 in back makes it look like you are looking into a dark cave when looking back through the mirror. Should have gone with 35 all around. Looks nice but may be unsafe driving at night just using the outside mirrors...

Yes I was worried going too dark, and giving the local police another reason to pull me over

Don't want to give them any reason to pull you over. The Torch Red is bad enough. I went with 35 front and 50 back which is the legal limit for Virginia. Wish I had gotten the ceramic, but I just couldn't justify the extra cost.

What's an average price for side and back window tnt in ceramic (35')?

Roughly.................

I had an 87 with just the back window tinted and it made a big difference in heat build up.

Wow, was that for ceramic film? If so, that is DIRT cheap; compared to what a good quality shop in Cali. charges.

I did 30% ceramic on the sides and back. It looks good, is not to bad at night. Really reduces heat build up in the car from sun. I have not been hassled about it and its a little darker than the 35% legal limit.

$188 may not be too bad but where I live (N.C.) we have annual inspections. Normal cost is $30. If you have tinted windows, there's an additional $10 tacked on to verify the transmissibility is within legal limits. This is rip off in my opinion but haven't found a way to fight it.

Just curious, when you open the doors, the window indexes. Can you force them all the way up for installations? SJ

Yes. Most experienced installers know how to do it. I think there is a trip switch inside the door near the latch...

Thanks for the info. Also, does anyone actually tint the back window of a vert?

Decided to bite the bullet and have the 20% stripped off the back and a lighter film installed, probably 35%. Funny, I had 20% on my 1st C6 and it didn't seem so dark. In the C7 it is like looking through the bottom of a beer bottle. I think it may be that the 70% that comes with the car plus the 20% film really makes it like a 14% tint, getting close to Limo.
Probably will cost almost as much to redo it than it cost in the first place, but I think it is worth it to be safer at night.

I'm having 30% ceramic installed right now along with X-Pel Ultimate.

I got a letter from my doctor that prescribes tinted windows.

Default I like 3m crystalline film

It's an expensive film, but it allows for good visibility and looks fantastic, the tint is within the legal limit in most states, it doesn't offer 20% in that film, if you're looking for something cheap however, you will need to look elsewhere
