I actually like the chrome badges because it gives the very modern looking car a bit of a classic look. I'm glad they're giving everyone the option though
That's a good point, it's nice that they are giving people the choice to go either way, as I can't think of any other cars out there that have an option such as this. I really like how Chevy has a ton of different options for the C7 so that people can really personalize a lot of the little details like this. There are almost no two C7s alike out there.
I saw a GM guy talking about that bar,on video I saw someplace, he said it was going to be a signature piece on all chevrolet cars.
It wouldn't take much time to black that sucker out, a roll of 2" masking tape, some news paper for masking, a little rubbing alcohol for prepping the surface, then shoot it the color of your choice.
Shoot it the color of your car if you wish, if it shouldn't take more than an hour.
I understand the guys here that like the chrome bar and chrome badges. Personal choice, I get it. My issue is that if you order the "carbon flash badge" package on your 2015 the chrome bar should be carbon flash. A totally black out car save the chrome bar. I know it's an easy fix but it shouldn't be a fix at all.

Maybe, but GM see this as a " badge package" and not a "blackout pkg". I too think it should be blacked out , but someone with a silver car or chrome wheels may want to keep it chrome, while darkening out the ID elements.....
My 2015 will be close to this except I dislike the wheels. I also wish they would remove the chrome strip. The great thing these are personal choices and its great to have opts.

Looking forward to TPW 8/11
I'm also ordering a Shark Gray 2015 and those wheels are not to my liking. I do like the badges and was hoping by ordering them the chrome strip would be gone. If you look at the Pacific Concept it has the Carbon Flash badges and no chrome strip.
I feel that the CGM was a much more unique shade of grey. I'm not fully sold on Shark Grey till I see one in person. Torch Red FTW!
The Shark gray is just a little lighter and a little browner than Cyber gray. What surprises me is that in the second-to-last picture above, the door looks darker than the fenders as it does on so many Cyber gray cars, maybe not quite as obvious. I thought the color change might have been intended to correct that.
Does anyone know why GM decided to change out the Cyber Gray to Shark Gray in the first place? I actually liked the darker shade of gray. If the answer is because the Z06 uses the Shark Gray, then why didn't the Z06 use the Cyber Gray color when it debuted?

Both the chrome and the carbon flash badges can look good depending on the color of the car. The bright colors and gray and black do look great with carbon flash but Night Race blue looks excellent with chrome badges, Laguna blue too.
It makes sense for a car with all-black wheels to have an all-black grille.
But I'm surprised that guys who want the 2015 bright machined accented black wheels wouldn't want the bright grille accent to match.
GM lose the stupid chrome bar in the grille already.. good god
I'm not sure why the chrome grill bar is so controversial....and it is easily blackened. I blacked mine out a while ago and then changed it back to chrome....either way, it's not a big deal.

I would say they wanted more contrast between Carbon Flash and the Cyber Gray.
The Shark Gray is lighter, but the pictures appear to have been taken with a cell phone and on a cloudy day and m.ake it look daker

I loved my CG C7, IMHO I think it was the best color for the C7.
I'm still not sold on the new gray, in these pictures it looks darker than other pictures I've seen. I really need to see it in person before passing full judgement.
