Your dealer has the primary responsibility to keep you informed.

Otherwise, the first Sticky at the top of this Forum.

Default Tracking your order

Hi,

Their are four ways to track your order:
1. Chevy order tracking site online. Just type in Chevy Order Tracking in your browser and it will be one of the top search results. It has basic sequence status. This status can be delayed by as much as 4 days from where the car actually is.
2. Chevy Chat Line - from the Chevy Order Tracking website, in the lower right corner there is a "Chat" tab where you can open a chat with a live service rep to give you order status. Sometimes they will refer you to call a customer service rep and sometimes they will give you status.
3. Online forum - On this forum (and Stingray forum) there is an Order Tracking thread where you load your order number and wait for a Chevy customer service person to respond to your request for status. This is hit and miss. You will get your status updated every other week or so.
4. Dealer where you ordered your Corvette. At every dealer there is what is called a GM Order Desk application. Your dealer can log on to this anytime of day or night, load your order number in and get exactly what your order status code is. They can even screenshot it and email it to you. This is one of the most reliable ways to get status. Tell your dealer you want an email with the screenshot every week!

Order status codes are:
1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
1101 Order Entered into System
1102 Order Entered via Web
2000 Order Accepted by Chevrolet
2001 Order Generated to Dealer
2005 Order Replaced with GM Prospec Order
2030 Order Edited by Chevrolet
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged"), Sent to Production
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to Sequence (now becomes more stable)
3300 Order Selected and Scheduled for Production by Assembly Plant (Target Production Week usually available now)
3400 Order Broadcasted for Production (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4104 Bailment Invoice Created
4B00 Bayed ("B", not 8)
4106 Bailment Released
4150 Vehicle Invoiced (Dealer Billed)
4200 Vehicle Shipped
4300 Intermediate Delivery
4V03 Estimated Delivery Date
4800 Rail Ramp Unload
5000 Vehicle Delivered to Dealer
6000 Vehicle Delivered to Customer
9000 Order Cancelled

If you use the online order tracking website, the following will help translate which Event Codes map to which statuses on the website. Originally posted: Event Status Codes and Corresponding Order Tracker Status

Status codes and corresponding Chevy Order Tracker Status (as best as I have been able to determine):

Event Status Code
1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
1101 Order Entered into System
1102 Order Entered via Web
2000 Order Accepted By GM
2001 Order Generated to Dealer
2005 Order Replaced with Prospec Order
2030 Order Edited (If Necessary)
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged")
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to be Sequenced
3300 Order Scheduled for Production
3400 Order Broadcast (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
4104 Bailment Invoice Created
4B00 Bayed
4D00 On Hold At Plant
4P00 Hand Off To Carrier
4106 Bailment Released
4150 Vehicle Invoiced
4200 Vehicle Shipped
4300 Intermediate Delivery
4V03 Estimated Delivery Date
4800 Rail Ramp Unload
5000 Vehicle at Dealer
6000 Vehicle Delivered to Customer
9000 Order Cancelled

Chevy Tracker Status
Order Placed
Queued for Production
Production Complete
Shipped/En Route
At the Dealership

Once your order is assigned to an allocation by your dealer, you will very quickly move from 1100 to 3000.
