I took delivery of my C7 coupe on Wednesday. During my inspection of the car, I wanted to see exactly where the battery is located and how difficult it is to access it. Pulling the carpet material back and removing the Styrofoam cover is all it takes, but in the process of doing this, I noticed the Styrofoam piece has an indentation that I think is designed to hold a tow hook. I recognized the shape on the indentation (look at page 10-76 of the owners manual) because our family car (Infiniti) has a hook, shaped like this, that came with the car. But there is no hook in my C7. Should there be? On the Infiniti, the hook screws into the front bumper frame and I'd guess it would be needed to pull the car out of a ditch.... or some situation where there was no other way for a tow truck to pull the vehicle into a position where it could be properly lifted and towed. If the C7 is designed to screw a hook into a frame member (front or rear) where would the hook be attached? Why wasn't one included with my C7?
There is a section of the front grille that snaps out to reveal a place to mount a tow hook, but I don't think the connection is already there. Some people have reported having the section fall out because it was not snapped in good.
Congratulations on your new car.
For US, the tow hook is NOT included. European spec Vettes have it.
There is a small cap on the rear bumper which supposed to have a tow hook receptacle behind it. Again the US models do not have the receptacle. I am not sure that having a tow hook is mandatory for US spec cars.
I hope I answered your questions. Enjoy your new Vette.

Thanks for the info. When I questioned the salesman, he didn't know anything about it. I'll relax now with the knowledge it's not included on US cars.
Phoenix Motorsports makes tow hooks for the C7 using the areas designed of them . You still have to install the receptacle. I've bought mine, just haven't installed yet.
The CTS V coupe has the tow hook receptacles but does not come with the hook. I got one but fortunately never had to have the car towed. Had one flat tire with the PS2s but the road guy was able to plug it and I was able to replace the tire.
I guess towing the Vette or getting it up onto a flat bed is always going to be something you hope never occurs.
