It was not directed at you. Member TXArtic said he/she did not know what the rules were concerning posting company information. I simply quoted the appropriate rules in a reply to him/her. Had it been directed at you, I would have quoted your post, not TXArtic's post.

I don't believe that Zymurgy was referring to your post. He was referring to TXArtic's earlier post and providing clarification for him.

So I guess I violated the rules? Sorry I PM'd (and offered to PM) info. I am not an employee of the shop I used just a happy customer and thought it would be nice to let others know of good quality work when found. So what happens when rules are violated? Do I get a warning or account suspension or something?

I don't believe you were being chastized. Zymurgy just noticed that you were unsure of the rules, so he as a courtesy provided them to you.

I appreciated your PM and will keep your recommended tint shop in mind as the delivery date for my 2015 draws closer.

Yeah, I know Zymurgy was being helpful...no worries. Good luck on whatever direction you choose for tinting. If you are in the Richardson area and want to inspect the tint job on my car before you pull the trigger just send me a PM and we can setup a time to meet.

BTW, where are the posting rules? I looked at the FAQ but it looks like it just shows how to make post and replies but I could not find specific do's/do not's?

It was an innocent mistake, so no repercussions. Next time, just post the name of the shop (no link, no contact phone, etc.). Members that are interested can then do their own research.

If a moderator deletes a post (or a thread) for rules violations, you will get a PM explaining why. Don't let an occasional slip-up worry you.

When I was having an invisible bra put on my C7 the installer looked at my rear window and showed me that it has been tinted at the factory. I did not ask if you can still tint over it. I am in south Florida and the factory tint works fine .

I just put 35% on the sides and 20% on the back. I should have gone 35% all around. 20% (on windows that are already 70% remember) is pretty dark when driving at night. The rear visibility without tint isn't too good to begin with. Adding 20% makes it look like looking into a dark hole.

The side and rear windows are tinted glass. Not enough for me and many others. Yes, you can still have tint film applied. Most state laws acknowledge factory tinted glass by requiring the VLT (Visible Light Transmission) include the net of the film and the glass.

Ceramic works great for keeping the heat out. But remember, the darker you get with ceramic the less heat it will block.

The ceramic tint transparency is proportional to solar energy reduction (I.e. Darker tint = more heat blocking). See link below.

This one says more heat rejection with lighter tint. Attachment 47818277

Elaborate?

5% Light Transmittance = dark! and it is at @54% solar energy rejection which is the most of the information you listed.

All I know is that with a flood light behind panels of different types of the ceramic and regular tink, the darker the tint with ceramic, the more heat got through.

Total Solar Energy is the full daylight bandwidth. IR is the one that best measures "Heat". Higher IR rejection, lower heat.

I disagree, see second post in link below:

http://www.tintdude.com/forum/index....4-tser-vs-irr/

TSER is a better measure.
