Better off waiting for a 2015?

I went for the 2015 because I had to. Dealer does not buy to stock (small town dealer) and I bought in June. If the A8 matters to you, then you are stuck waiting. Find a high allocation dealer even for your 2015. I have been waiting 5 weeks and I am still at 1100 (preliminary order accepted).
Me thinks I may have constraints like Z51, Canadian, low allocation dealer, 2LT coupe but with Nav/PDR - in other words I *may* get a 2015 despite my one grand deposit. Maybe my option combo has the General baffled and scratching their heads

And if the Z06 finally comes out before I order for a price in my range (I LOVE Corvettes but I'm not paying Mercedes prices for a Chevy), I may very well upgrade.

At this late in the model year you are much better off waiting for a 2015. I personally wouldn't buy a 2014 unless it's Invoice - 3%
Dealers are already giving supplier on 2015's. I searched high and low for a 2014 a month ago, a dealer was willing to give supplier on a Z51 Vert but I had such a terrible time getting answers, promises of calls or emails never amounted to anything. So I decided to just order a 2015. My situation was different as I was not "pressed" for a C7 because I had a 2014.
Order a 2015 from Les Stanford for supplier, I bet you get your car in October.

At this point I'd agree. August is less than a week away. Which means its only another a month until 2015's start showing up on dealer lots. Even if you are going the M7 route (instead of the A8) it would be worth it to me to have the software upgrades and added features like PDR on the 2015. Not to mention a year newer car. Getting to drive the car for one month more of your entire ownership period is hardly worthy of purchasing the older car. If you've waited this long, you can wait another month or so.
About the only way I'd buy a '14 car at this point is if I was paying cash and getting atleast $8,000 off sticker. Because someone who is financing thru a credit union can get a '15 with atleast $6,000 off sticker with discounts. Not to mention the $2,000 difference between the model years makes almost no difference in the monthly payment if you were financing.

As much as I wanted a C7, it took me awhile to really get serious about selling my C5 convertible. It was my first Vert and the last Vette we bought before my wife passed away in 05.
Sold the C5 about 3wks back. I'm on a list for a Z06, but the fleet mgr. said I don't have a prayer of getting one in 15, unless I'm ready to pay way over list. She said that production will be limited for the 2015.
So it will be a 2015 3LT Z51 Coupe, with the color I want optioned the way I want. Has to be 7 spd. manual. Having hard time deciding on color, with striping no striping. One thing for sure it will have red interior.

Currently there are no used car book values available, on the 2014 Sting Ray. $10,000 first year depreciation? Could be! Based on this figure, my (2014) car's actual depreciation will be about $5,000 to $7,000. I selected options with return value in mind and my car was purchased days before the April price increase.

How much less will my trade be worth in a few months? (2013 GT500). The forum dealer is giving me the supplier pricing on the 14.
I would like to order a 2015 and get the color I like the most. But could my trade be worth a lot less?

Heck you live in Northern, Va where instead of sand on the roads they use gravel for snow. I will not drive my Corvette after the first snow and it remains idle until a few good spring rains clear the roads of the "sand" and whatever else debris they seem to put on the roads for the winter. Not even talking about the army of dump trucks, garbage or dumpster hauling trucks, and of course the Vans with two stories of ladders on top with a full bed of painting or masonry supplies stacked in the back, all on 95, 66, 7, 29, 28 and 495. I don't want to get the front repainted and windshield replaced after just a few months....
Already happened with other daily drivers.... I will store it and enjoy it during warmer weather...
