I have to admit, I was a little concerned about not having a CD player. Well to today I finally had time to experiment with my iPod in the car and the experience was great. I have completely welcomed the 21st century. Anyway, it is a lot more convenient than any CD player or CD changer. The voice recognition was flawless, even when I gave the command: "Play 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark,'" it did not miss a syllable.
GM really "hit it out of the park" with this vehicle.

Yep cd's are bulky! The old I phone is ready to play as soon as you hit the car!
I just "realized" this.... I know I'm not as old as some on here and have seen less come and go, but I can't believe I've been able to watch the CD player come and go with a vehicles entertainment.

I saw the fm converter come and go, 8 track player come and go, cassette player come and go, and now the cd player come and go.

I still have my "Records" ( those are NOT lines of computer coding)
and a great Turntable ( that is NOT a piece of furniture that spins around) with a new cartridge ( that is NOT a container of printer ink)
and a new drive belt ( that is NOT a component of a supercharger
package) .

At least the record player didn't come and go. Hope the windup spring doesn't fail, heard they are expensive, hand made. Have not seen any 78 RPM records in stores lately?

I managed to go pretty much straight from cassettes to MP3s, skipping CDs along the way (though my wife owns about ten of them). I guess I just wasn't paying attention during those years.

this is either a trick question from a young purist audiophile or
you are 48+.
