Default C7 Order Process

I just put my order in with my local dealer for a 2015 Z51. The dealer gave me the print and said when GM accepts the order I can track it using the order number and he gave me the sight at Chevy to do this. This was all done Friday. Since, every time I try I can get a response that it cannot be found and to try later. What does it mean when the dealer says When GM accepts and how long will this take? Thx

The order has been entered into the system, which will cycle through and appear within a couple of days excluding Sunday.

After the order is entered, when your dealer gets an allocation, the order will be matched against allocation and barring constraints will be placed, accepted by GM.

Entered = 1100

Placed = 2000

Hope that helps.

How long it takes will greatly depend on how many allocations your dealer has, how many people are in line and if you order anything that's constrained at the time. It could easily take quite awhile.

Here's a recent thread that has a lot of info about the status codes/ordering process etc

I would have asked the dealer how many 2014 Corvettes they sold. Their answer would have given you an idea of how many 2015's they will get. If they didn't sell any or only a couple 2014's, you will probably be waiting an awful long time, and especially if Z51 stays on constraint.

your dealer can tell you anytime what you code is...codes listed here in sticky thread....you should at the time of consummation of the deal tell him you want the code via email every monday morning or you'll take that in account when you do the delivery survey...IN FACT, BEFORE LEAVING WITH THE ORDER - TELL THE SALES MANAGER THAT.....NOT THE SALES GUY.....guaranteed that will get his attention...it's big $$ to him if you burn him…DO NOT LET HIM OFF THE HOOK...HE OWES YOU THE CODE ANYTIME YOU WANT IT....

go ask the dealer every monday for this report called the gm workbench report. You don't have any car being built until this report says 2000 in the red circle:

Default Thank you

Thank you to all of you who replied to my question about the order process. It is so frustrating -one would think GM would be ready to go and meet the demand. By contrast I just ordered a high performance BMW for wife - new model - no issues. Order in -factory accepts-delivery date ready.

Don't kid yourself, the new M4 will go thru the same process with dealers....when demand outstrips supply, allocation slots are commonplace. M4's also will be allocated by sales history, not sold orders.

Is there a status between queued for production and produced? My order is in and accepted and the status says queued for production. Thanks
