Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same. I find the M7 is really clunky when the tranny is cold. It usually lasts for the first 5 mins of driving after the car has sat overnight. The shifter feels a bit notchier but there is definitely a clunking of gears. All is fine after the first 5 mins of driving. I have owned many manual tranny cars and the shifter is normally notchy when cold but the tranny is rarely clunky (like gear hitting gear).
Also wanted to mention that I was concerned about CAGS before I got the Vette, but in 2000 miles I have only experienced it kick in once (admittedly too busy talking and I short-shifted). Have NPP set to full roar all the time and love winding out the motor (when fully warmed up, of course)... Man, I love my C7!
This was a complaint/issue with the C6's as well; especially grinding when cold as well from 1st to 2nd, and to 3rd. It appears like the M7 exhibits the same characteristics.

Definitely no grinding. In fact, the clunking reminds me of a motorcycle 1-2 gear shift when taking off slowly. Does not sound like any mechanical damage going on.
Mine's clunky too. Not a problem as long as it is durable and trouble-free. The whole shifter and drivetrain setup in the Vette is not nearly as smooth and precise as my German cars.....
Will be interested to see how the 8 spd trans might change any of this. Had the same issue on my 2014, so when my 2015 arrives will be able to notice pretty quick.
