Go find the train. Get your car going the same speed as the train along side of it. Then jump out the window and onto the train. From there you climb in your car and press the On Star button on the mirror to activate services. Other than that you can try to call On Star. I believe the only way to active it is from the car though.

In order to use the vehicle location feature, your OnStar system must be activated. Vehicles can only be activated by key press within the vehicle. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any questions.

That feature does work but you also have to have the app (obviously). I tried it just for fun. Very cool.
