So I just had my door fixed from a factory defect. When the body shop took the door off to repair they found these documents under the floorboards. I'm pretty sure it's not the build sheet, as I've seen that. But it is some kind of paperwork that follows it down the line. Is there a name for it?...

I think it's called the build manifest...very similar to the build sheet.

They changed the build sheet process in about '10, '11 or '12, I don't remember. But they went from the single, all encompassing sheet to individual build sheets for specific stations on the line. I don't see the station ID number on either of those but maybe those have changed too.

If talon90 doesn't chime in with details today I'm sure you could PM him and ask for clarification.

I believe the term is "Build Sheet". I have the same documentation.

Those are also build sheets in your picture. What you may have seen is the final summary build sheet placed in the car near the end of the line for final quality checks. There are now multiple build sheets used in the production of the vehicle and they are changed at select stations at the start of a new section of build.

The top is the Chasis Main Line summary sheet, the bottom is the build sheet from station 17-02.

With the introduction of the C7 and the configuration changes at the plant, all of the build stations numbers changed as well. As Rick pointed out, they changed from a single build sheet following the car to individual build sheets per build sections several years ago to have less information on the page used by the operator to assemble the car.

By "under the floorboards," do you mean the carpet? I wonder if they are in all the cars or did someone forget to remove yours?

I'm gonna have them dry mounted or laminated, as I did with my window sticker. But I'm still not convinced this is the only one. I'm going to scour the car tonight.

Looks exactly like the build sheet that came with my car. Normally they are discarded in prep, I think (depends on the dealer's policy, I assume.) My salesman grabbed mine and kept it for me.

Don't spend too much time scouring. Those should be all there is in there. The build sheet changes a number of times as the car travels down the line. The sheet currently on the car from the previous operation gets discarded with each change. One of those two sheets is from the end of the line and no additional sheets are added. It is odd that the 17-02 sheet stayed with the car however. These usually travel with the car to the dealer as no one bothers to throw them away. As noted, they generally get removed during PDI. A Corvette friendly dealer will save them for the owner, a "Chevy" store with few Corvettes/Corvette owners will typically just toss them.

Hi talon90,

Yesterday I decided to throw out the shipping cover that came in the trunk of my 15. There was a lot of other plastic inside the cover but I also found some documents. I believe at least one is the build sheet.

Is this green one the day my car was built? It only says 10/14 on the door.

Is one of these the build sheet?

Would you know what these are?
