Hi there crew. New member to the forum as I'm anticipating my purchase of a C7. I have some questions I am hoping someone can help me out with. GM has been less than helpful in gathering this data.
I need to know if the car has daytime running lights. Do you ever have to turn a switch to turn on your lights? Do either the headlamps or Leds light up as soon as you start your car?
Also, if you know if the car has a theft/security immobilization system
(essentially if the key paired to the car isn't provided the car won't let you steal it)
I see in all pictures a MPH readout but assume KPH(KM) can be switched to with a setting control (I know on other gm's the needle just jumps from 60 up to 100 and the mph light goes out and km comes on.
Yes, it has DRL's, comes with a theft deterrent system, and you can set the guages to KPH, and everything else comes up metric, too.
Maybe one of the Canadian members will post up on here shortly and will give you more info. Good luck and enjoy the car.
There is no mention from OP on whether it is a Canadian car bought in Canada or a US car imported to Canada. Key difference is that the "hard" gauge spedometer on the left of the driver screen is in kph and goes up to 330 km/hr. Only the virtual gauges can be toggled between US and metric. Lamps are auto-on and I believe even US cars have DRL (US owners can correct if I am wrong). Suggest OP download Owners Manual as it details it fully.
Hey guys, sorry for taking this long to say THANK YOU. I appreciate the input and am really happy to hear about the theft immobilization. No one has been able to give me that data. I did find the DRL's were good.
I bought my car!!!!!!!!!
I have been super busy but CANNOT WAIT to get through the c7 forum post by post
(my first ever vette so who knows.....maybe it'll run in my blood both future and the past Hx)
Excited

Happy for you, enjoy the forum, lots of good info here and some good people, too. Enjoy your new Vette and miles of smiles, don't for get to wave!
Is that an owners unwritten law like Harley riders?
Yes, it is . Under penalty of death!
Just a thing started many years ago in Europe when one car driver acknowledged another drivers taste in cars, generally sports cars of any make. The tradition has moved to the Corvette, and on occasion a few others. I have had more Ferrari guys wave at me (other than Vettes ) than any other brand. They have good taste, also.

I have found GM Canada to be rather useless when it comes to answering questions as well. I can't believe they still haven't released pricing for 2015s yet. No one seems to be able to give any answers other than the standard "We do not have that information at the moment"
Super frustrating.
They didn't even know the warranty is only good in Canada (if imported from the USA) AFTER 6months AND 12,000 KM . NOT mutually exclusive. Also, they WILL NOT, handle any emergency repairs. (i.e. the engine drops onto the road). Canada really doesn't want to give us any breaks. Good thing I'm at a border.

Need to correct you, the hard gauge on the left toggles between KPH and MPH with the digital gauges. I know this as I recently took mine (a Canadian car) down to Boston for a week.
If you have an American bought car your importing to canada there are rules and restrictions and you may not even be allowed to import into the country since there are restrictions. If you live in canada and bought your car in Canada no big deal, but if not you could be in a lot of pain trying to bring it in the country...
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

I take it you've been to the RIV website, so next thing to do is contact your local Crappy Tire since they are the ONLY ones who can clear your car for importation.
