The A6 is much improved in the C7, it rev matches all downshifts, it also changes the way it shifts depending in what drive mode your in.[/QUOTE]
This is the only thing I don't like about having Mag Ride because if you want the "Track" shifting characteristics, you have to live with the "Track" ride of the MSRC system.
I wish the auto transmission setting could be defaulted in all modes like the NPP, steering feel, and cluster display can.
maybe some software Guru will make available some fix That will allow just what you ask for. I do not want to give up the fantastic ride of the Mag Ride in tour but I do want the snappier shifts..
And so far, I am not sure I think the NPP sounds that great. Haven't really gotten into it since I am still in break in mode.
Just wait. When you hold it to the floor (after break in) and let the car shift gears, the pop it makes between the gears will make you a believer! Very addicting!
+1 I hope the 2015 A8 has the option to be shifted with the shifter as well. My current DCT can be shifted with the paddles and shifter and I find that I mostly use the shifter. I only use the paddles on the highway when the steering wheel is mostly kept centered.
The shifter really comes in handy in slow speed tight turns from a start where you have the steering wheel turned hard right or left. Finding the paddles can be difficult in the first to second shift.

As far as I am concerned, it is the best of both worlds. Automatic shifting when I am stuck in traffic, and paddle shifting when I want to play around. As some have stated, the C7's paddle shifting is smoother and greatly improved over the C6.

Exactly! Most other cars I have driven with "manual mode" automatics allow shifts to be made on the paddles and shifter, don't know why this isn't available on the Corvette.

Yes, much agreed!
At least the C6 shift response can be improved with a Tune.

So can the C7...The Diablosport Firm Sport shift program is pretty nice. You can program Partial throttle shift pressures and WOT shift points by gear...
Wakes it all up nicely! Quite responsive, pleasurable and improved normal driving..
As mentioned, I do wish it had shifter actuation as well as paddles like my DSG VW's.
I'm just at 350 miles so I haven't let "her rip yet" but I'm warming to the A6. I'm an old gear head my last 4 vettte's were manuals, and I'm just as happy and satified driving the A6 Stingray as I was driving my Z51/Z06's.

Like these?
The stock C7 shift response is impressive. I'll have to drive one with a Tune. Looking forward to that!
I am considering a current inventory 2014 with A/T - paddles, and would like to hear from people who have this option. Do you use it ? Like it ? Hate it ?, etc.
This will be the 14th Corvette I have owned, and possibly the first Automatic. But this car has what I want at the right price. This is the only thing holding me back.
If you were an automatic person, the paddles would be a nice addition.
However, the paddles are no substitute for a manual shifter and clutch. Not even close. You'll be bored with paddles after a day, if that.
They are making about 15,000 manuals a year, so one should pop up that fits your needs.
The A6 paddle response in my C7 is much improved over my past 2010 A6. I just leave it in D and when I want to shift down using the paddles, do so.
The easy part is holding the right hand paddle for a couple of seconds to revert back to auto mode without moving the shift lever back.
I had a C6 with automatic transmission/paddle shift and now have a C7 with automatic/paddle shift transmission. The C7 automatic transmission shifts MUCH faster when using the paddle shift going from gear to gear. If you get into a street race with someone and use the paddle shifter, you'll be pleased to see how fast the car goes from 1st gear to 2nd gear. The C6 paddle shifting wasn't near as fast going from one gear to the next as this new C7.
I enjoy the paddle shifting overall, though I do admit I miss the manual transmission at times. When you keep the transmission in the "M" position, you can paddle shift through all the gears to simulate a manual transmission but if you're a die-hard manual transmission fan, I'd recommend the manual tranny.

Have it and love it!
The C7 Paddles are way more responsive than my V.
