Some advice please. I spoke with my dealer today and I am on track for my car to be built next week. We were going over the last few items and I can get the following warranties:
5 year/75 k miles extended warranty for $1,535
Road hazard tire coverage for 5 years for $1,088
Anyone buy either of these? I’m in on the extended car one but not sure about the tire one….comments please and thanks in advance!
I got a road hazard warranty from Discount Tire, free replacement for tires that are not repairable according to Michelin down to 3/32nds of tread. Cost me $186. Don

Is this a GM Major Guard extended warranty? I would skip the Road Hazard tire coverage.
That extended coverage is really only 2/75 because it runs concurrent with the factory 3/36.
I suggest you talk to Dennis Fichtner for the best pricing and service and maybe wait 'till the 3/36 is about done:
It's actually only a 2/39 because it runs concurrent and is superseded by the factory 3/36.
Couldn't agree more about Dennis Fichtner for GM warranty pricing and service.
To the OP, If it isn't a GM Extended Warranty, do not waste your money on it. Consider the GM plan (from your dealer if the price is fair and it is convenient) but do look at Dennis' pricing.

I will check that out for sure. I had one years ago.

I got the tires insurance through my dealer $500. 5 weeks in got a nail in the right rear. The insurance company replaced the tire, and actually arranged for the replacement one to be shipped to the dealership since they were having a hard time finding one. Posted about it a couple of weeks ago. It seems a lot of the guys are going with discount tire and that seems to be like a good deal. Some will say that you can patch your tire. My concern was to drive at 140+ mph on the track with a tire that could go.
As far as my experience, insurance paid for itself in very little time. Good luck!
Huh, my selling dealer said tire insurance was not available. Selling dealer was one of the big volume stores too. He must not have wanted my money. $1100 is too much but for $500 or less all it would take is one nail to pay for itself. That is why I wanted to buy it.

And because the extended warranties run concurrent with the factory 3/36 you should consider waiting until a little before the 3/36 expires and then purchase. Yes, it will cost more, but you will be getting close to the full extended warranty, not a mere 2/39.
