Default Battery Package

Any preference using the Battery Protection Package from GM rather than a Battery Tender which I use on my 2009? Is there really any difference between the two as it relates to the life of the battery? If I understand correctly there are connections under the hood to hook up the Battery Tender. I ordered the Protection Package since it is only $100 so it really boils down if I want to keep the hood open partway or the trunk lid open partway unless someone tells me there is a difference in the two systems. I would actually prefer to keep the interior of the car sealed during the winter months.

If anyone uses the connections under the hood, can you tell me if they are the same size threaded studs as the battery connections on the C6?

Thanks

For plugging into the socket in the hatch (only one that remains hot all the time.)
The GM tender is a low featured Cetek...Good quality, but better versions are available cheaper.
Should meet your needs though

Is it true that you must keep the trunk lid partially open to use this?

I crack the passenger side window and run the cable thru there so I can close the hatch

I've closed the hatch on my GM C7 charger cord numerous times with no negative effects since last November. The hatch gasket is hollow and compresses easily when the power cord is run over it and when removed the gasket returns to its original shape. No damage to the cord either. I do move it slightly each time it is installed. Leave your car door open when closing the hatch so it closes with little effort.
