I know the owner of the Mobil. He had suggested I use his non ethanol. He carries standard 87 and 91(no eth). Nothing in between. 93 octane down the street is $3.99/gl. His 91 is $4.32/g. Perhaps before putting it away the last tankful or two I'll run the 91 for storage purposes.
Buyer beware with octane boosters. Many a person has read the claims of x ounces booster per y gallons of fuel raises the octane z points and believes that the gasoline's octane will be the original octane + z. Not necessarily true at all. There is some ambiguity in what is a "point". To the best of my knowledge it is 0.1, not 1.0 Misleading? You bet! But unless things have changed, I believe this information is correct. (I haven't used the stuff for years. Never had much luck with it. I have had good luck mixing race fuel with pump gas.)
I have been using non-ethanol 91 for some time now. Switched over to it when I had my C6. Performance has been great and fuel economy improved 4-5%. I had similar results after switching on my motorcycle as well.
