Default Microfiber vs. Perforated leather

I plan on ordering a 2015 this Friday and wanted to know what type of leather is the most popular for the standard seat and why, microfiber inserts or perforated?

The perforated, by far. Why? I don't know. Perhaps because it is extra cost. I have the "suede" and it certainly helps keep you planted in the seat.

I'm curious to see what the suede looks like down the road.

I have the suede (microfiber) and I think it is also perforated. At least I get a blast on my butt when I turn on the ventilation...

I have the 3LT in brownstone. I couldn't see paying a premium for Napa leather and then paying more for microfiber to replace parts of it.

Lots of posts in C6 (it was available for some time on the C6) about how the microfiber has held up. Cliff notes: very well.

I have the Jet black suede in my black vert and love it, it is perforated too and it feels great with the air blowing through it.
I have the AC on with the top down and both top and bottom vents on, this helps deliver "cooler" air through the seats.

You are paying more for Polyester that's what your pants and shirts are made of. Leather use to be extra cost to replace cloth Polyester equals cloth to me. Yes it cooler but remember how shiny your seat pants got from wear just saying.

the (black) sueded inserts are cooler (subjectively) than the full leather in my C5.
And as someone else said, you don't slide around during hard corners. An yes, they are perfed, so the seat ventilation does work.

The leather in my '01 base C5 (DD From Aug 2000 to Mar 2013) has a hole worn in it from the corner of my wallet, and the stitching is starting to separate at the bolster/bottom joint.

Not that it is the identical material, but the seats in my 05 trailblazer are suede.
They are holding up quite nicely, with no worn in buttprints or friction holes.

JMHO-
UPSIDE TO SUEDE- When the summer sun hits leather it feels hot enough to burn you. Suede gets hot too, but doesn't tend to feel like it will burn uncovered skin. If you are into high performance driving, suede seems to keep you from sliding around as much in the seat.

UPSIDE TO LEATHER- I think it looks classier and it is easier to clean if you get it dirty.

I went with suede inserts on my ordered 2015.

My daily drive has suede ( 2005 Pontiac Bonneville GXP ) and it is a lot harder to keep clean and be sure you use the right products when cleaning it !!!!! Wayne
