I heard that Tom Hill (Bowling Green Quality Control Manager .... that many of us know along with his wife Liz ... from numerous Corvette shows such as Blommington Gold, FunFest, etc) is no longer with ... retired or ???
Do any of you know if this is true and anything about his departure??
Tom retired as of the end of December of 2013. He just felt it was time to get on with his life.
He was approached by a car collector various times over the years and asked if he would consider coming to manage his collection. This last time, he made him an offer he couldn't refuse and Tom accepted the position and he and Liz have relocated.
If you attend some of the higher end car shows in the future (Amelia Island, Pebble Beach, etc.) you will likely find Tom.
Tom's a great guy. Wonder who replaced him in his GM position. Tom was the reason I purchased my 14 instead of waiting on a 15 and then not being able to get a spiral gray.

Yes, Tom is a neat guy...a pleasure to talk-to regarding the C7.
Ken, we had several conversations with Tom when he brought that '14 Stingray to Hampton Roads NCRS National in July 2013. That also had a lot to do with triggering my purchase of a C7 to replace my C6. Mac C.

I have had the pleasure of dining with Tom and his wife at Carlisle. Both are very nice and have always enjoyed their company.
I wish him the best in retirement, he certainly was a great ambassador for Corvette.
Here's the kinda guy Tom Hill is. A few years back I purchased a new Crystal Red Corvette for our 25th wedding anniversary. After I brought it home and had it for a few days I noticed the front fender was a different shade than the rest of the car.
Really long story short, after some bitching and complaining on the forum, I received a call from Tom offering to help. He sent me a new fender painted from the factory but that didn't match either. I didn't want my new car repainted and after months of unsuccessful attempts to get a GM buyback, he called and offered to re-panel the whole car if I brought it back to Bowling Green.
He met us in the parking lot on a rainy night at the Corvette Museum when we got into town, handed me the fob to his Z06, took my car, and in two days it was re-paneled and new again. He couldn't have been nicer to us throughout the whole ordeal.
