Default 2015 VIN's

You made a post quite a while ago. I'm in the D/FW metro area. We just sold out 2014 Z51 'vert' and are buying a 2015 Z06 automatic 'vert' that is claimed by GM to be a 'pre-production' 2015. It was built in November 2014 before the 'vert' automatics were released and the number is F5500071. Does that make sense to you???

They typically have unique numbers for the pre=production cars. This one seems by the documentation to have been used by Mary Bara (GM's president).

Does the number (55) make sense???

The first 5 indicates the plant - Bowling Green. The second 5 would normally be a 6 for a Z06. So, yes this is probably a pre-production car.
