I took my car to track day and a after a few runs I started getting and Engine overheated warning and it said to let the engine idle, I looked at the engine temperature gauge and it was sitting in the middle where it usually does, does anybody have any insight? It is hard to believe that the engine would overhear so easily.
Hope you're not tracking with the A/C on......it will overheat pretty quickly. But it's sounds more like your coolant gauge may not be working properly. What was the oil temp?
Not much info other than you did a few runs. What does that mean? Timed runs to 60, wide open laps, or lots of shifting on a road course? Did you follow the instructions in the manual and change your oil to the proper weight 1st? What was the oil temp?

Hard to imagine it overheating. The desert heat doesn't seem to cause any overheating on the cars at Spring Mountain, though we never ran more than 20 minutes or so. AC is on 100% of the time unless you're just a masochist

The cars at Spring Mountain are undoubtedly using 15W-50 Mobil 1 oil as recommended by the owners manual.
Fiddy cent sezs the A6 is overheating and not the engine. He said he got the overheating warning but the engine temp was normal. Same answer I gave in the C7 Tech forum on this same thread.
