Z51 seems more likely but I have read about base car's too!
You may have oil in your intake and not know it.
You find it when you remove your plastic intake infront of the throttle
body. Then flip it over and it is a nice place to carry oil! That will get back in the engine!
Please spare us the "overfill message's" As my car still does with being down a full quart !
I know of 6 or more cars doing it! From other posts and threads!
We have an issue of oil coming back in the intake from the PVC lines!
Guys adding catch cans instead of going to the dealer to get it solved!
If you have burped oil in in the intake post it here! Check your pipes for heavy soot!
Then check you intake!

So you didn't post what I'm reading Here in post number 9 where you say you put a catch can on and were gettin oil in the can. That otherwise goes into the intake?
So this was happening on my Z51 and I have taken it to the dealer twice. First time they told me to take it easy and let the engine break in more. It had 2500 miles on it. So I took it easy for another 500 miles and then found a good 1/2 cup of oil on my garage floor and my intake was again soaked and filter as well. they took it in and contacted GM again. the oil was changed and they replaced the PCV valve. Now have another 500 mi and am not seeing any oil in the intake. is this the answer? i am not sure. But I hope so. Very upset to see this happening on what is a great car. this is my first Vette and my first GM product in a very long time. they are not making a good impression with me.

All of the LS engines did it why shouldn't this one, it has the same PCV system and the system will catch oil mist and drag it up into the intake.
I wasn't worried when I saw it on my zo6 in 2002 and again on my silverado in 2008.
I think I have had about 8 Chevy Ls-1- ls 9 engines. Have read about plenty but lucky none of mine did. Even would go out and clean the back of the throttle body blade and intake and find none.
This has been happening since the introduction of the LS1 and probably most piston engines since they were invented. My LS6 had a recall on piston rings to reduce oil consumption, but I didn't like the idea of tearing an engine apart to solve what I didn't see as a problem.
My car gets autocrossed frequently and seldom street driven, so it probably sees high revs more frequently than most cars and I do have to add oil once or twice a month, but the last time I had it dyno'd, it was running as good as I could hope for. I don't have a catch can.
I do clean the intake and manifold once in a while with various products and it maybe helps the car run a little smoother, but I just haven't seen a noticeable impact on performance because of this, although I agree that ideally, you don't want oil in the combustion chamber.
