2015 Coupe or Convertable
Besides the awesome lines of the vert, I'm a total open air guy. That's part of the visceral experience of driving a high powered sports/muscle car. Feeling the air on my skin. Now that's sexy. Coupe with targa top off ain't the same.
So why can't you find a vert where you live? Here's a clue. I just sold my gorgeous C6 VY vert to a guy in Nebraska. So what? I live in California. He bought it sight unseen. I asked him why he went car shopping in Cali, which caused him to pay an extra $1K for shipping. There had to be a ton of verts in Nebraska, right? His answer: No. Cuz of the weather. So it depends where you live. Obviously, California is vert country.

I really want to track this car.
If you don't want to track your car I'd go with a Vert. I think the lines are better than the coupe (I know, unbelievable). I still get thumbs up for others when my top is down.

First, in my view, you lose the beautiful lines of the car with the convertible. A convertible looks great with the top down. With the top up, not so much.....
Second, you can take off the roof of the Coupe! You've got your own convertible then.
No right or wrong answer - but if you think you will drive with the top down more often, or envision yourself not having the top down b/c you do not want to take the targa top on and off (yes it is light and easy to do - but still not like the vert) then I would lean towards the vert.

With that in mind, again IMO, you have to be a Vert person and love having a Vert.
I've had Verts before and loved them, but they were weekend and nice weather pleasure vehicles.
I like the look of the C7 Vert and the C7 Couple equally, they're just different and looks would not figure into my decision.
My thoughts lean towards what is more usable ( for ME ) on an everyday basis and road trip vehicle so I prefer a Coupe.
The top still comes off and Yes, aside from a little inconvenience taking it off and on compared to pushing a button in a Vert, it's not worth the extra $5K to me just for that convenience.
"You" have to Love having a Vert.
I personally enjoy having the top off my Coupe as much as I did when I had a Vert, and in other ways like a Coupe more.
I like having access to the hatch area from inside the car..
I like being able to put things within arms reach right in back of me with the Coupe.
But after all is said and done, that is just me and what I prefer

Bottom line, there's a Huge difference between owning a Vert and owning a Coupe and need to be sure before making a decision.
Just my 2 cents
beat this horse to death on this forum. In my case, I had a C7 coupe on order that never got built (dealer lied about having allocations). So the very same day I discovered the lie, I cancelled the order and took a 2LT AW vert right out of a competing dealer's showroom and never looked back. My previous C6 was a coupe, but before I owned her, I had nothing but convertibles for several years (love 'em). The problem with the C6 coupe was the targa was enough of a pain in the a-- to take off and put on (and I had the plexiglass top, so there was virtually no weight involved), I virtually NEVER had the top off the car. In contrast, when I own a true convertible, like my C7, the top is down at least 80% of the time virtually year around (I live in South Carolina). As far as the looks of the car go, I believe the looks of the convertible with the top down are superior to the coupe, but like many here have said, when you put the top of the convertible "up", the coupe is clearly the prettier car. This is not to say (as some have claimed) the vert is "ugly" with the top up (in fact, many of the compliments I have received on my C7 occurred when the top was in the "up" position). I just agree with those who have opined that the coupe gets the nod when the convertible top is up. None the less, since my top is down most of the time, and I therefore get to experience a TRUE world class top down roadster nearly every day, I am more then thrilled getting behind the wheel of my beautiful C7 convertible...
"and that is all I have to say about that"
How's your weather? How much opportunity to go roofless? In my part of the world it seems it's always raining or threatening to. I drove a vert C6 for 4 years and loved it, when it was nice enough to put the top. I bought a C7 in coupe form because I liked the look and didn't think I would miss having a vert. Driving with the Targa off is a pleasure, but not quite the same. But again, based on opportunity here with the weather, the coupe made sense to me. Your might use the opportunity line of thinking as a guide.

Our lean is towards the vert since we are trading our 2007 coup; wife hates having to pack and unpack the Targa lid just to go into a store.
Any concerns with a vert that would come into play on our decision?
Thanks
Not everyone likes the lines of the convertible much the same not everyone likes the lines of the coupe.
The good news with a convertible is that you won't have to pack/unpack anything to go in to a store, simply put the top up. The bad news is you won't have very much in the back to worry about because the convertible has half the available storage of the coupe and if you don't pack with the top down, you won't be able to lower it later if you over fill.
You sound like you are more of an open air family, so maybe a convertible is for you. We don't pack light so it doesn't work for us. We take a few road trips a year and like the storage capability of the coupe plus, I prefer the lines of the coupe. The last piece for me, I take my car to a couple of road course driving events per year and I couldn't do that with a convertible.
