I just reloaded my entire CD collection (450 CD's) as Apple Lossless format vs MP3 has I originally did.
Does the music on an SD Card look and operate the same as if it were being streamed by an Apple Device?
Thanks in advance.
Tom
No, it does not, at least not in practice. The Corvette may be set up differently. Apple in itself, likes to make things proprietary, which is extremely annoying. Unless your system recognizes the codec for Apple Lossless Format, made for compressing music bought from the apple store, it won't play it. Although Apple made it open source so any system can implement it, MP3 is way much more accepted and is basically built into every single electronic device, ALAC is not.
However, the system will determine how it sounds, so even if you have the best system in the world, but your speakers are absolute junk, it will sound terrible.
...also, if you store podcasts and audiobooks on the USB or SD card, they will not show up in the menu as podcasts and audiobooks, as they do with an iPod.
... even though the owners manual says they will !
I assume your lossless files are saved in the .m4a format, correct? The MyLink system can read and decode them so unless they are doing something odd they should sound fine, mine do.
I did a post on how to copy your music and transfer your playlists to a flash/SD card on another forum and it's in bad taste to cross link. If you want a link PM me until I get time to recreate it here.

I took cds changed the wmv files to mp3 files then used a file change program from NCH and changed mp3's to apple files and loaded them on an IPOD nano !!!! You could only do a few for free then you need the paid version !!! Wayne
Seems the easiest way to play the Lossless format is to just buy an iPOD. Guess I'll check out the pre-owned stuff on eBay.
Thanks
Tom
That's my take Tom.
I have over 6000 songs on my iPhone along with podcasts and most important, play lists. I just stream from my phone. It's incredibly easy and convenient.
