Hard to tell exactly what you are asking, but you probably checked off a box in "options and settings" in your profile. There are several items there that could result in email being sent to you. If you are getting notifications of posts to a particular thread, you are subscribed to that thread and have asked (in your profile) to recieve updates by email.

When you post to a thread, you are automatically subscribed. To stop getting emailed each time someone replies, you can either go to the thread tools for a specific thread and change the notification level, or to change it globally there is a place in your UserCP.

Subscription behavior when posting in a thread is controlled by an option in your User CP. Under Settings & Options, click the Edit Options link. In the Messaging and Notification section, there is Default Thread Subscription Mode. You can set it to "do not subscribe". With that setting, you have to manually subscribe to a thread if you want notifications.

1. Don't post any comments on threads and you won't receive responses.
2. Or, when you get your first response to a post/reply, scroll to the bottom of the email and click the link to unsubscribe to that particular thread.
3. Or, select the bottom link in the email to unsubscribe to all threads in which you've posted/replied.
